A split night for Beltway Boxers at the StubHub Center in Carson, CA Saturday night.
Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard remained undefeated with a six-round unanimous decision win over late sub Juan Carlos Rojas of Mexico.
Ballard won by scores of 60-53, 59-54 and 58-55 as Rojas lost a point in the first round for a low blow. Ballard raises his record to 10-0, seven KO's while Rojas sees his record drop to 10-13-1, eight KO's.
Also on the card, Palmer Park, MD super featherweight Kevin "K-Smoove" Rivers, Jr. lost his first pro bout by a six-round majority decision to Alejandro Ochoa of Bell Gardens, CA. Rivers was dropped once in rounds one and two but managed to get an even score (56-56) on one judge's scorecard. The other two judges saw the fight for Ochoa at 59-53.
Rivers is now 12-1, nine KO's while Ochoa's record rises to 7-10-2, one KO.
