July has turned out to be a huge month for the Douglas family. On July 17th, Antoine Douglas put on a sterling performance winning a third-round TKO over a previously undefeated boxer on national television.
BATB has now learned that older sister Tyrieshia "Lady Tyga" Douglas of Washington, DC (top) will travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina to challenge Leonela Paola Yudica for Yudica's IBF Flyweight title on Friday, July 31 at the Club Social y Deportivo El Porvenir.
Douglas (9-0, four KO's) has previously won three titles (the UBF Flyweight and Bantamweight and the WIBA Bantamweight title) but this is her first attempt at one of the titles among the big four governing bodies. Douglas, who is ranked number four by the IBF, is coming off a seventh-round TKO victory over Maria Suarez on March 20 in Woodlawn, MD.
Yudica (9-0-3) won the IBF title on December 19, capturing a 10-round split decision over Gabriela Bouvier in Buenos Aires. In her first defense on March 20 in Buenos Aires, Yudica battled Vanesa Lorena Taborda to a 10-round draw.
