Two Beltway amateurs won their opening bouts at the Junior Olympic Nationals at the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, WVA.
Quincey Williams of Washington, DC won a 3-0 decision over Julian Castillo of San Angelo, TX in the Peewee/9-10-years-old/70 pounds division.
Thomas Coe of Halethorpe, MD won by walkover in the Peewee/9-10-years-old/85 pounds weight class.
