We now have the entire Jeter Promotions/RBA Promotions card for Saturday, June 6 at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.
As BATB announced previously, the main event has undefeated Montgomery Village, MD welterweight Gerome "The Showstopper" Quigley (7-0, six KO's) defending his Virginia State Welterweight title against Benjamin "Wildcat" Olinga of DC (1-9) in a six-round contest.
Co-Promoter and Matchmaker Tony "Mo Better" Jeter has taken off his boxer's hat (which has earned him rankings of number 15 by the WBA and number 12 by the WBC) and has put together a total of 10 bouts slated for the card. If you can't be in attendance, you can hear a live blow-by-blow call of the card by downloading the free Boxing Along The Beltway Google App for Android at this link: Boxing Along The Beltway Google App. For IOS users, you can hear the card by going to this link: http://www.spreaker.com/show/boxing_along_the_beltway We will be on the air beginning at 7:25 PM ET.
In an eight-round feature bout, Alexandria, VA middleweight "The Pride of Alexandria" Brandon Quarles will take on veteran Jose Felix of Albuquerque, NM. Quarles (15-3-1, seven KO's) has won two straight by TKO since his last loss to Corey Rodriguez in August of 2014 in Carlton, MN. On the last card at the ABC Sports Complex on March 28, Quarles scored a second-round TKO over Andre Baker.
Felix (11-17-2, four KO's) is no stranger to the Beltway region as he makes his fifth appearance. Felix split two bouts against Jeter and lost to Lawrence Jones and Larry Recio. Felix will try to break a six-bout losing streak in which he's been knocked out in his last four outings.
Light heavyweight Eric "The Inferno" Govan of Germantown, MD will face off against the debuting Kevin Miller of Lynchburg, VA in a four-round encounter. Govan (3-1, one KO) bounced back from suffering his first pro loss in September of 2013 by knocking out Nathan Chambers in the first round on August 9 in DC. Miller is one of the newest boxers coming from The Hurt Factory gym, run by Scott "Cujo" Sigmon.
In what may be an interesting all-Beltway encounter, rookie super welterweight Zarifbek "Uzbek Warrior" Nishanbaev of Landover, MD will take on Laurel, MD veteran Norman "The Shadow" Allen in another four-round contest. Nishanbaev, a native of Uzbekistan, needed just 27 seconds to win his pro debut on the March 28 card against Mike Blocker. Allen (6-14, three KO's) is coming off a four-round unanimous decision loss to Marcus Willis on April 25 in Winston-Salem, NC.
Crofton, MD heavyweight Luther "Lights Out" Smith also returns to the ABC Sports Complex as he faces Schyuler Marshall of South Carolina in a four-rounder. Smith won his pro debut on the March 28 card when he scored a first-round knockout over Jonathan Williams in front of a large crowd of supporters.
Marshall (1-5, one KO) lost by first-round knockout to Fred Latham on March 6 in Charleston, SC. Marshall returns to the area for the first time since losing to Danny Kelly in February of 2013 by first-round knockout on the Lamont Peterson-Kendall Holt card in DC.
Rockville, MD super middleweight Francisco Bustos will make his pro debut on this card taking on the equally debuting Kashane Sanders of North Carolina. Bustos went to the finals of the Novice Division of the Washington Golden Gloves in 2014.
Bridgetown, Barbados super lightweight Cobia "The Soldier" Breedy returns to the area for a four-round contest against Trevon Blizzard of North Carolina. Breedy (2-0, one KO) got his first pro knockout on the March 28th card stopping Bobby Wooten in the first round. Blizzard (0-3) looks to get out of the first round for the first time.
Undefeated Albuquerque, NM welterweight Brian "La Bala" Mendoza comes to the east coast for the first time to take on Dontre "Pound For Pound" King of Cambridge, MD in a four-round bout. Mendoza (5-0, three KO's) is coming off a first-round stoppage of Ivan Lucero on May 9 in Pojaque, NM. King (7-17-2, three KO's) will be the most experienced foe Mendoza has faced. King has lost three in a row and was stopped by Samuel Omar Quinones, Jr. on July 18 in Hanover, PA.
Miami, FL heavyweight "Lightning" Loui Alexandre will battle debuting Tyrone Williams of North Carolina in another four-rounder. Alexandre (1-0, one KO) made his pro debut at the ABC Sports Complex on December 6 and stopped Montreal Mathis in the first round.
In a rematch bout, Atlantic City, NJ light heavyweight Lavarn "Baby Bowe" Harvell looks to avenge his only pro loss when he takes on Edgar Perez of Chicago, IL in a four-round contest. Perez defeated Harvell in a six-round contest at the ABC Sports Complex on June 14, 2014, knocking down Harvell twice along the way. Harvell (13-1, seven KO's) has not fought since the loss to Perez (6-14, three KO's) while Perez has lost four straight since the win over Harvell.
