Three Beltway Boxers -- all signed by Golden Boy Promotions --kept their won-loss records spotless with victories Tuesday night on a Golden Boy Promotions card at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
Temple Hills, MD super middleweight D'mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard won a six-round unanimous decision over Josue Obando of Guadalajara, Mexico in a nationally-televised (FoxSports2/FoxDeportes) contest. Ballard won by scores of 60-54 and 58-56 (twice) to raise his record to 10-0, eight KO's. Obando is now 13-7-1, 10 KO's.
Lightweight Lamont Roach, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD opened the telecast with a six-round unanimous decision over Christian Santibanez of San Antonio, TX. Roach scored a shutout on two of the judge's scorecards (60-54) while the third judge scored the bout 59-55. Roach is now 8-0, three KO's while Santibanez falls to 3-5, two KO's.
On the undercard, Palmer Park, MD super featherweight Kevin "K-Smoov" Rivers, Jr. scored a third-round TKO over Luis Lizarraga, Jr. of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Rivers dropped Lizarraga in the second round and then stopped him at 24 seconds of the third. Rivers made his Golden Boy Promotions debut a successful one and raised his record to 12-0, nine KO's. Lizarraga falls to 5-5-1, two KO's.
