Three DC Region Boxers remain in the hunt for National Golden Gloves titles in Las Vegas, NV.
Jordan White advanced to the next round at 114 pounds with a win over Fred Compton of Indiana. Tavon Body also moved into the next round at 165 pounds with a victory over Micah Hunt of Knoxville, TN.
DeWayne Beamon of Goldsboro, North Carolina is the third DC Region Boxer to advance as he won his bout at 123 pounds over Jeremy Olivarez of Michigan.
Three DC Region Boxers were eliminated from competition and one of the losses was a real shocker. Keeshawn Williams, who was the Outstanding Boxer of the Regional Golden Gloves on April 25, lost his first bout at the nationals at 132 pounds to Maliek Montgomery of Knoxville, TN.
Also at 178 pounds, Justin Bell lost his second round bout to Marco Delgado of California.
At 108 pounds, Jonathan Howard of Greensboro, NC was knocked out of the tournament by Pablo Ramirez of Texas.
