Alexandria, VA amateur middleweight Iesha Kenney won a bronze medal at this week's Junior and Youth Women's World Championships in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Kenney lost her semifinal contest Friday to Lu Zheng of China by a 3-0 decision. This is Kenney's second bronze medal earned at these championships -- she won bronze in 2013 as a 132-pound junior in Bulgaria.
Congratulations also to Kenney's coach, Kay Koroma of Burke, VA, who is part of the US coaching squad that has six boxers in Saturday's championship round.
