DC Heavyweight 'King' Charles Jerome Passes!

Sad news in the local boxing world.  DC heavyweight "King" Charles Jerome passed away on Monday, April 13 after a brief illness. Jerome was 33 years old.

Jerome, the son of former Potomac Valley Association Chair Jerry Jerome and his wife Cecilia, had a brief illness due to a staph infection.  Jerome had just one bout in his pro career, a four-round unanimous decision win over William Monroe at the Patapsco Arena in Baltimore, MD on November 23, 2013.

Charles Jerome's funeral will be held on Friday, April 24 at Metropolitan Wesley AME Zion Church located at 1712 North Capitol Street in Northwest DC.  The service begins at 10 AM.  BATB sends its deepest condolences to the family.

Oh my, this is so sad to hear. I sparred manuy rounds with Charles. He was a really good guy. My deepest condolences to his family.

It is very sad when a person is taken way to young. Sympathies to his family
