October 24 Rosecroft Card Coming Together!

The Keystone Boxing card slated for Friday, October 24 at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD is coming together.

Undefeated Palmer Park, MD super featherweight Kevin "K-Smoov" Rivers, Jr. returns to action in the six-round main event.  Rivers (9-0, six KO's) will take on Karl Garcia-Rios of Caguas, Puerto Rico (4-2, one KO).

Rivers is coming off a six-round unanimous decision victory over Xavier Montelongo on June 13 at Rosecroft.  Garcia-Rios won a four-round split decision over previously undefeated Pedro Vicente on March 15 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.  Garcia-Rios will be led to to the ring by former two-division WBO champion Ivan "Iron Boy" Calderon who is making his debut as a head trainer.

The co-feature will match Suitland, MD cruiserweight Venroy "Hardwork" July against Tony Ferrante of Philadelphia, PA in an eight-round battle.  July (16-1-3, six KO's) fought to an eight-round draw against Quantis Graves on April 12 in Baltimore, MD.  Ferrante (12-6, seven KO's) is winless in his last five bouts.

Two other bouts are signed for the card at this time.  Rookie junior welterweight Patrick Harris of Hyattsville, MD will take on Jeffrey Ramos of San Juan, Puerto Rico in a four-round contest.  Harris (2-0, two KO's) scored a third-round TKO over Michael Doyle on July 18 at Rosecroft.  Ramos (3-2, two KO's) was stopped in the third round against Luis Olivares on March 14 in Kissimmee, FL.

Also, DC featherweight Marcus "The Animal" Bates goes against Edgardo Marin of Humacao, Puerto Rico in another four-rounder.  Bates (2-0-1, two KO's) battled to a four-round draw against Stephon McIntyre on January 17 at Rosecroft.  Marin (0-2-1) has fought in back-to-back split decisions, losing one and one ending in a draw.

Also scheduled to be on this card are Capitol Heights, MD light heavyweight Shaborn Ryals (2-0), junior lightweight Joshua "Dynamite" Davis (7-1, three KO's) and the debuting Cobia "Soldier" Breedy, a former Caribbean featherweight amateur champion from Bridgetown, Barbados.
