Beltway Boxers Making Fall Traveling Arrangements!

A number of Beltway Boxers will hit the road in the next few weeks, many scheduled to appear on some marquee cards.  Here's the list as we know it now (bouts subject to change):

Saturday, October 18 -- Undefeated Bowie, MD super middleweight "The King's Son" Jerry Odom (12-0, 11 KO's) is slated to headline a card at the Dunmore Community Center in Scranton, PA.  No word yet on an opponent for this scheduled eight-round contest.

Friday, October 24 -- Burke, VA middleweight Antoine "Action" Douglas and Baltimore, MD featherweight Glenn Dezurn, Jr. will participate on a card at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Somerset, NJ.  Douglas (14-0-1, nine KO's) will be in the eight-round main event against Jose "Stinger" Medina of Tilton, NH by way of Mexico (18-15-1, seven KO's).  Douglas is coming off the 10-round draw against Michel Soro on July 25 in Verona, NY.  Medina has lost three of his last four.

Dezurn (4-0, three KO's) will face Joshua Reyes of Millville, NJ (5-2, two KO's) in a four-round encounter.  Dezurn scored a first-round TKO over Andre Canada on July 25 in Verona, NY.  Reyes last fought on February 12 and lost a six-round unanimous decision to Bryant Cruz in New York City.

Saturday, October 25 -- Baltimore light heavyweight Cory "Black Ice" Cummings will battle Yusef "The Mack Attack" Mack of Philadelphia, PA at Schuetzen Park in North Bergen, NJ. The bout is a scheduled six-rounder.  Cummings (17-7-1, 13 KO's) and Mack (31-7-2, 17 KO's) will try to break three-bout losing streaks.

Thursday, October 30 -- We've already told you about this one -- Front Royal, VA junior welterweight Andrew "The Doo Man" Farmer will battle Danny O'Connor in a 10-round, nationally-televised (Fox Sports 1) main event bout at Memorial Hall in Plymouth, MA.

Now comes word that two more Beltway Boxers have been added to the undercard -- super middleweight D'Mitrius "Big Meech" Ballard of Temple Hills, MD (6-0, five KO's) and lightweight Lamont Roach, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD (3-0, one KO).  Neither man has an opponent for their bout.

Saturday, November 1 -- undefeated Laurel, MD middleweight Demond "D'Best At It" Nicholson (10-0, 10 KO's) makes his first trip away from the Beltway as he has been added to the card at UIC Pavilion in Chicago, IL.  No word yet on his opponent.

Also on that card, Lynchburg, VA middleweight Scott "Cujo" Sigmon (24-5-1, 13 KO's) takes on Caleb "Golden" Truax of Osseo, MN (24-1-2, 14 KO's) in a 10-round contest.  That bout will be part of the Showtime Extreme telecast.

Saturday, November 29 -- Waldorf, MD junior welterweight Mike "Yes, Indeed" Reed (11-0, six KO's) travels to the Century Link Center in Omaha, NE for his first scheduled eight-round contest.  No word yet on his opponent.

This card will be on the undercard of a world title doubleheader -- Terence Crawford defends his WBO lightweight title against Raymundo Beltran and Evgeny Gradovich puts his IBF Featherweight title on the line against Jayson Velez.  This will be an HBO-televised card but no word if Reed's bout will be televised.

This out-of-town schedule, combined with what we have scheduled in the area, will make for a fun last three months of the year!  We'll have the Beltway schedule later on today.
