Ballard Stops Trotter; Dozier Drops Decision in Brooklyn!

Beltway Boxers opened the card tonight at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

D'Mitrius Ballard of Temple Hills, MD stopped Columbia, MD's Barry Trotter at 2:35 of the first round.  According to reports, Ballard trapped Trotter along the ropes at the two-minute mark and pummeled him until the bout was stopped.

Ballard remains undefeated at 6-0, five KO's.  Trotter is now 2-2, one KO.

Also, DC junior middleweight Lenwood "Mr. Composure" Dozier lost a six-round unanimous decision to undefeated Prichard Colon of Puerto Rico.  Dozier was shutout 60-54 on all three cards.  However, Dozier was able to extend Colon the distance for the first time in his pro career.

Dozier's record drops to 9-7-1, four KO's.  Colon is now 11-0, 10 KO's.

I was surprised to see the Ballard vs Trotter fight was made, but nether the less it was two Beltway Boxers fighting on a Golden Boy card on Showtime. Lenwood Dozier put on a very tough fight against a undefeated fighter that has won all his previous fights by KO. Good job Lenwood for going the distance.
