'Glove Story' Comes To DC Black Theatre Festival June 28!

If you remember back in 2010, the University of Maryland performed an opera called Shadowboxer based on the life of Joe Louis.  On Saturday, June 28, another boxing-themed production will come to DC and the DC Black Theatre Festival.

The play is called Glove Story and it's a fictional account of two former middleweight champions -- one black and one white -- who fought each other three times during the 1950's and 1960's amidst the backdrop of the growing Civil Rights Movement.

This play is written by former Sports Illustrated writer and current TV producer Ken Pisani and has been received favorably on the west coast.  This reading will be held at 8 PM at the ARC Theater located at 1901 Mississippi Ave in Southeast DC.  Admission is free.
