Derek Brent, Son of 'Chop Chop' Corley, Loses Pro Debut in PA!

It was a tough debut loss for the son of a Beltway Boxing legend Friday night in Scranton, PA. Cruiserweight Derek Brent, the son of former WBO Junior Welterweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley, lost a four-round unanimous decision to Brian "Wildman" Donahue of Philadelphia, PA.

According to noted boxing writer JR Jowett, Brent was knocked down in the first round by a Donahue right hand.  However, Brent came back in the second and dropped Donahue with a right-left combination that also cut Donahue's right eye.

Brent did a good job countering in the third round but started to tire as the bout moved into the final round.  Donahue took control of the final round as Brent continued to wither from the wrestling and shoving.  Brent lost by scores of 38-36 (twice) and 39-36.

Donahue's record is now 3-9-2.
