Larry Recio scored a second-round TKO over an extremely game Daniel Gonzalez.
Recio hit Gonzalez with every punch in the book but Gonzalez kept coming forward. The problem for Gonzalez was that he had little offense accompanying his movement.
By the second round, the similar pattern forced referee Vic DeWysocki to stop the contest at 2:10.
Recio remains undefeated at 6-0, five KO's. This is his fifth straight win by knockout. Gonzalez falls to 9-32-2, three KO's.
Main event is next -- Ty Barnett (22-3, 14 KO's) in a scheduled 10-rounder against former world title challenger Cosme "Chino" Rivera (36-18-3, 24 KO's).
Congrats Larry. Would love to see Recio fight Brandon Quarles
ReplyDeleteOnce again Recio proves he has what it takes to fight with the best when that time comes. Congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteBecause he beat a old as bartender it's time to step up soon as Dc fighters step up they get their ass beat
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of a crazy statement. We have some of the top fighters in the world. Tony Thompson can whip every heavy weight not named Klitsco Lil G will be a Great champ, Lamont is a champ, D Wade will be a champ, chop chop can still compete with the best of them. I think we're doing pretty good
ReplyDeleteWhy do you want a fighter with just six pro bouts to "step up?" Why do you want him to fight a guy with 10 or 12 wins after just six bouts. That is just plain stupid!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is stupid.
DeleteRecio is fighting well and when his time comes I think he will do very well. No need to step up now. When his time comes is the key phrase.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS JUAN AND GARY IM GONNA KEEP MOVING LARRY THE RIGHT WAY AND WHEN HIS TIME COMES I WILL STEP HIM UP HE'S BEEN FIGHTING TOUGH GUYS BUT WE ARE GOING TO CONTINUE TO MAKE THE RIGHT MOVES WITH HIM.SMALLS
