Reed Stops Canales After Four!

Mike Reed put together another dominating performance in stopping Regino Canales after four rounds.

As we post this, Canales is being taken out of the ring on a stretcher after suffering what looked like a seizure
moments after the bout ended.  Canales finished the bout on his feet but then collapsed to the canvas.

During the contest, Reed increased his output each round and landed crushing body and head shots.  At the end of the fourth, ringside doctor John Stiller told referee Brent Bovell to halt the contest.

Reed raises his record to 9-0, six KO's.  Canales drops to 6-5, two KO's.

We come right back tomorrow night from the DC Armory.  Until then, good night from Rosecroft.

UPDATE:  Keystone Boxing is reporting that Canales was treated and released this morning from Prince George's County Hospital.  Our best wishes go out to Canales and his family.

Keystone should choose better who hold the round sign. She was to ratchet and thirsty for all the dude was there.

As Discombobulating Jones said during the card, she filled in at the last minute. She wasn't their original choice.

She tried her best. Leave the lady alone. Another solid night for pro boxing in Maryland.

Kudos to the Maryland State Athletic Commission physicians for getting in so quickly to medically assist Mike Reed's opponent.

Great display of local Maryland - DC boxers. Club level boxing at its best! If you were not there, you really missed something. Keystone, when is your next show?

My feeling was that the crowd was pretty big and really got into it. They were fair, too. Even the guys from out-of-town who lost and fought well got large applause. Bottom line, Rosecroft is a great place to go watch a pro boxing show.

The Roman Gabriel vs. Gabriel Braxton fight was fantastic non-stop action. I would love to see Keystone put together a rematch between these two warriors.

The boxing room at Rosecroft really does have a nice atmosphere for pro boxing shows. It is not too big, and you can really hear the crowd cheer the fighters on. Free parking, too.

Doctors got in there real fast, yes indeed.

The "Battle of the Gabriels" was an out-and-out war -- very exciting and very well-matched at 118 pounds each.
