Sports Illustrated's website, SI.com has named DC heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson its Comeback Fighter of the Year for 2013.
The website lauded Thompson for his two knockout wins over David Price in England. The two victories gave Thompson an opportunity to land a third bout against world champion Wladimir Klitschko. However, Thompson lost a unanimous decision to number one contender Kubrat Pulev.
At age 42, Thompson is still ranked among the heavyweight contenders and is slated to face Odlander Solis in March.
By the way, the Beltway Boxing Year-in-Review will be here sometime after Christmas.
