Johns And McIntyre Battle To Draw!

In what was a really good bout, Marq Johns and Stephon McIntyre battled to a four-round draw.  Both guys fought very well including a great third-round in which both guys fought phone-booth style for the bulk of that three-minute period.  Each man had their moments.

The scores were somewhat interesting -- Judge Paul Wallace saw a shutout for Johns, 40-36.  Judge Dave Braslow scored the contest for McIntyre, 39-37.  Judge Kenny Chevalier saw the draw at 38-38.

The bout was the pro debut for Johns while McIntyre is now 2-1-1 and has finished his first bout in the United States following two bouts in Panama and one in France.

We have a brief intermission as Marvis Frazier is being introduced to the crowd.  Also there are memorial 10-counts for Maryland State Athletic Commission member Lou Leavey and former amateur boxer (his boyhood idol was Joe Louis) and former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela.
