Charlo-Rosado Is Co-Main For Peterson-Jean Card January 25 at DC Armory!

Golden Boy Promotions, the promotional group for the Saturday, January 25 card at the DC Armory in Washington, DC, has announced its co-feature for the card headlined by Lamont Peterson defending his IBF Junior Welterweight title against Dierry Jean.

The 10-round co-feature should be a good one as undefeated Jermell "Iron Man" Charlo of Houston, TX will battle former world title challenger "King" Gabriel Rosado of Philadelphia, PA.  Charlo (22-0, 11 KO's) is coming off a 10-round TKO over Jose Angel Rodriguez on October 14 in Sunrise, FL.  Rosado (21-7, 13 KO's) will try to bounce back from his 10-round TKO loss to Peter Quillin for the WBO Middleweight title on October 26 in Atlantic City, NJ.

BATB is learning that a number of Beltway Boxers are slated for the card but no matchups have been announced.  We are hearing that Anthony Peterson, Phil Jackson Benson, D'Mitrius Ballard and Dominic Wade are all slated to compete on the card.  Whether more locals will be added remains to be seen.

Is Benson going to fight a golden boy super middleweight on the card such as Marco Antonio Periban or Librado Andrade?

No word on any other matchups for this card yet. I do know that Jackson Benson will NOT be defending his WBC Fecarbox Super Middleweight title on this card.

Is he basically giving that belt up since he hasn't defended it since winning it in May? Don't you have to defend it every 90 or 180 days or it will be vacated. It's been longer then 180 days. Will he defend his WBC United States belt on the card?

Not that I'm aware of in either case. I think he still has time. Tony Jeter got his before Jackson Benson did and he is defending the title in February.
