Nelson Defends WIBA Welterweight Title November 7 in Cockeysville!

Undefeated, three-belt, two-division world women's champion Tori "Sho Nuff" Nelson of Ashburn, VA will defend one of her titles  -- the WIBA Welterweight championship -- against Kali Reis of Providence, RI on Thursday, November 7 at Martin's Valley Mansion in Cockeysville, MD.  The bout will be the main event on the annual Jonathan Ogden Foundation Benefit boxing card.

Nelson, who also has held the WBC and WIBA Middleweight titles, won the WIBA welter crown in her last outing on September 13 in Lincoln, RI.  Nelson (7-0-3) won a 10-round unanimous decision over Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes.   Reis (5-1-1, two KO's)  is unbeaten in her last four bouts (3-0-1, one KO) since splitting two bouts with Lopes.  This will be Reis's first bout since June of 2012.

BATB recently talked to Nelson about this contest.  Here's the interview:

A number of Beltway Boxers are slated to be on the card.  Montgomery Village, MD welterweight Gerome Quigley will take on the returning Damien Butler of Glenarden, MD in a four-round contest.  Quigley (1-0, one KO) made his pro debut on September 28 at the Patapsco Arena in Baltimore and scored a first-round TKO over Allen Williams.  Butler (0-3) makes his first appearance in the ring since March of 2010.

DC welterweight Benjamin "Wildcat" Olinga looks to bounce back from his four-round unanimous decision loss to Cornelius Whitlock on October 24 at the Mayflower Hotel in DC when he faces undefeated Rolando Chinea of Lancaster, PA in a four-round contest.  Chinea (4-0-1, two KO's) won a four-round unanimous decision over Damon Antoine on July 19 in Harrisburg, PA.

Beltway rookies Jeremy Trussell of Baltimore (4-0, three KO's) and Alexandru Marin of Frederick, MD (1-0, one KO) are looking for opponents on this card.

The co-feature will be a six-round heavyweight contest between Jarrell "Big Baby" Miller of Brooklyn, NY and Willie "Blackout" Chisolm of St. Petersburg, FL.  Miller (5-0-1, five KO's) is 6'4, 260 pounds and last fought on September 25 and scored a second-round stoppage over Tobias Rice in Queens, NY.  Miller will have his knockout streak tested against Chisolm (7-18, four KO's) who has not been stopped in a bout since May of 2008.

Hardwork Promotions is the promoter of record for this card which can be seen on www.pandafeed.tv for $9.99.  This will be a live broadcast that will begin at 7:50 PM ET.
