Post-Fight Wrap Includes Interview With Reed!

We have the Post-Fight Wrap-Up including an interview with Mike Reed.  However, after the interview, the recording cuts out a little abruptly so the entire recap is not on there.  Apologies for the technical snafu.

Another great night for Keystone Boxing in Maryland. The fights were decent and it turned out to be a good-sized crowd, too.

Seeing 1988 Olympic Gold Medalist Andrew Maynard at the Rosecroft pro show on Friday night was an added bonus! What a friendly, easygoing guy.

Maynard could really fight. Had power in both hands. Threw punches in bunches. Surprised many when he beat the Russian for the gold at light heavy in Seoul.

Something really happening at Rosecroft. Good job Keystone.

Good tests for Reed and Hurd. Both opponents came to fight. Reed figured out his guy quicker than Hurd did, but this was a great learning experience for these two.

Hurd is a young fighter that is really improving much, his team is doing a very good job keeping him busy and picking fights that are helping him get better along the way. Reed is a special fighter with much talent, and his confidence and experience is shown in the ring. Both Reed and Hurd fought undefeated fighters which is something that other top DMV young fighters have not done yet, aside from A. Fox. In my opinion that's how you identify how is really from the cream of the crop, when fighters take a step up from time to time and challenge themselves rather than constantly fighting fighters that don't belong in the ring with them.

Hurd looked really good once again. I think there should be a 4 man tournament between Jimmy Lange, Cecil McCalla, Alantez Fox, and Jarrett Hurd to see who is best 154 fighter in the DMV. It wouldn't take place until next year when Lange is healthy and the other three get a little more experience.

Out of all the jr Middleweights in the US to pick and fight, why would anyone want to see the DMV to young fighters fight each other for next to nothing. As of Lange, he is a fine deal. I hope he retires. If a fight doesn't make money, it doesn't make any sense.

We need have a 147 tournament to see who the real DMV champ

Why do we care who the DMV champ is? If a boxer is just satisfied with being the best in the Beltway than that boxer is just shortsighted. Unless a tournament leads to something like a guaranteed NABF or USBA title, it would be a waste of time and too much effort for little reward.
