Locals Begin Competition in National PAL Tournament!

Beltway amateurs have started competing at the National PAL Boxing Tournament in Oxnard, CA.  On Monday, Lamont Roach, Jr. won by walkover over Manny Flores of Santa Maria Boxing in the 132 Pound Jr. Division. (Boxers are listed by the gym names, not the hometowns).

Roach is scheduled to compete in today's evening session which will begin about 9 PM ET.  Roach will face Nahir Albright of the Athletic Boxing Club.  Also competing in the evening session will be Troy Isley who will face Charlie Sheeny of South San Francisco.

In the afternoon session, scheduled to start at 3 PM ET, Mykal Fox, the younger brother of Alantez Fox, will be in action against Salvador Perez of the host gym for the tournament, Oxnard PAL at 141 pounds.  Kareem Martin will also compete in the afternoon against Brandon Ramirez at 152 pounds.

Also, Marquis Moore, a Fort Washington, MD resident who is serving in the US Army, will compete in his second bout of the competition against David Enciso of Gio's Boxing.

Afternoon session:

Mykal Fox is competing in ring #2 in the third bout.

Kareem Martin is competing in ring #2, bout #13.

Marquis Moore is competing in ring #3 in the 15th bout.


Evening session:

Troy Isley is competing in ring #1 in the fourth bout.

Lamont Roach is competing in ring #1 in the 14th bout.
