He is terrible. He needs to retire before he suffers brain damage

OK look and he is going to come on here with the all the religion stuff, but the truth of the matter, he cannot fight and is going to as the poster before me said, get brain damage! Do the right thing once again Mr Gary and contact the commisson to get him banned for life!

And shut up McCombs with the excuses already!

If you are going to post the story, post the story with proper details like things that took place prior to the fight. And yes I do know these things but its up to those who post to do the proper research. I know that McCombs speaks highly of you Gary and this blog spot and for this story to be posted like this is messed up. And as for you other anonymous jokers we dont know if you ever been in a ring or what you do period for you to even speak in such a manner. Its one thing to say something like that out of concern for an individual but another thing to put someone down. You need to support one another more DMV and be more positive when it comes to your own!!

And by the way KNOW THE DIFFERENCE - "CAN'T FIGHT AND DOESN'T FIGHT " is two different things, Einsteins. THINK ABOUT WHAT I AM SAYING BEFORE YOU EVEN REPLY

The weigh in the day of the fight killed my body i honestly starved myself to maintain 179lbs...i was weak and on top of that i had to burn a pound on the treadmill...my opponent knew rushing off the start was wise i was done..i debated if i should still fight due to my condition...i feel so horrible i left with nothing my pride, the love for the sport died that night....the commission took most of my money due to a poor performance...my family needed that money and i let everyone down...to the people who were with me all the way I love you deeply.

I posted the story on the bout based on the info I received. However, the info that I do know about Richard never coming out of the first round (even in the bout he DID win) needs to be pointed out as well.

That info about his performances and his struggles prior to this bout should be taken into consideration as to whether Richard should fight again. Having seen one of his losses in person, it sounds like what happened in the ring last night was a carbon copy of what happened when I saw him.

My personal belief -- and this is based on my respect and admiration for Richard -- is that he should not fight again.

Richard is a good guy, loves the sport, and often offers interesting comments on this blog. But, that said, he should not be fighting. Suggesting someone should not box anymore is not meant to be hurtful or disrespectful. The intent is just the opposite.

Last 5 fights - all 1st round stoppages. Five 1st round stoppages in 6 pro bouts.

Guys, are you REALLY serious about giving Gary a hard time about pointing out the obvious? Unbelievable. Gary, solid job for looking out for the best interest of a boxer and saying what need to be said.

Gary thanks for your concern and support. I know you're coming from a good place and to everyone Anonymous I will prove you guys wrong and please just quit with any disrespectful responses towards Gary, It is really uncalled for. I realize alot of mistakes I have made and only God knows why I took the chances I did but knowing all that I do know and have experience what I did, giving I have another contract to honor, I plan to perform better than ever and all that I can ask is that my supporters and those that believe in me continue to stand behind me as I go forward with my career. But I will say this if I fail to give everything I have in my next fight and put on a good performance and win, Gary you have my Word, that I will officially retire from the sport of boxing for good.

And who would you be fighting

Gary you deleted my comment what kind of circus are you running? I get it mccombs a bum but it's almost as if you want to display the negative things about him. I know I did a previous post about him fighting some tough competition.

dude can fight he just dont be thinking man patients is key heart alone wont do it. Gary I have to disagree with you Mccombs hasn't fought no east competition and if he can fight someone with a losing record and win his next fight from the looks of it a guy 1-2 should serve him good.I don't know him personally but I hear good things and outside of him losing to some of the best amateurs theres no shame in that he had the heart to atleast try. dmv suck no real support only if your winning smh.

why dont he just get a skip fighter that would build his confidence
