DC super featherweight Nuwan Jayakody lost a four-round unanimous decision to undefeated Philadelphia, PA boxer Anthony Burgin on Saturday night at Bally's Event Center in Atlantic City, NJ.
According to noted boxing scribe Jack Obermayer, Burgin was just too quick and slick for Jayakody, who lost by scores of 40-36 (twice) and 39-37.
Jayakody, a native of Sri Lanka, made his pro debut on April 12 in Salisbury, MD and won by third-round TKO over Hugh Hinds. Jayakody is now 1-1, one KO while Burgin is now 4-0, one KO.
