Baltimore, MD middleweight Franchon Crews won a silver medal at the Women's Continental Championships in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela on Sunday. Crews lost a 15-7 decision to Yeneiber Guillen of the Dominican Republic in the 165 Pound title bout.
When Crews comes back home, she will get ready for a very interesting fundraiser. Crews has joined forces with the National Kidney Foundation. This is a campaign that hits home for her because Crews's mother, Sarah, has been battling stage four renal failure due to chronic kidney disease since 2005.
Crews will be participating in the National Kidney Foundation's fourth annual Rappel For Kidney Health which will be held on Saturday, June 8 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel.
During the event, Crews will rappel 28 stories down the side of the hotel! This is to raise funds to cure this disease. Here's how you can help:
