The bout sheet is complete for the Saturday, March 23 Hardwork Promotions card at the Frederick Fight Club in Frederick, MD. The card features all four-round bouts with many local prospects.
In the main event, undefeated Rockville, MD junior middleweight Dillon "The Stalker" Heyman will take on Stanley Harvey of Norfolk, VA by way of San Diego, CA. Heyman (3-0, two KO's) is coming off the tough four-round unanimous decision win over Ervin Fuller on December 8 at the Washington Convention Center in DC. Harvey (1-3, one KO) was stopped by Antoine Douglas in the first round on January 10 in Woodhaven, NY.
Also on the card will be Frederick, MD middleweight Devar "The Warrior" Ferhadi who will face the debuting Jason Bakanowski of Northborough, MA. Ferhadi (1-0, one KO) won his pro debut on November 3 in DC by first-round knockout over Anthony Madden with a solid bodyshot.
The rest of the card consists of locals making their pro debuts. DC welterweight Gerome "GQ" Quigley will take on Tommy Ayres, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH. Ayres (0-1) is the son of the former welterweight contender of the 1980's. Ayres made his pro debut on December 1 in Winchester, VA and lost a four-round unanimous decision to Edgar Torres.
Baltimore cruiserweight Travis Reeves takes his initial step into the pro ranks and faces DC's Zakki Scott. Scott (2-0, one KO) has not fought since March 10 of 2012 when he defeated Andre Ward by four-round unanimous decision in DC.
In what should be another solid matchup, Cheverly, MD light heavyweight Eric Govan will make his pro debut against Temple Hills, MD's "The Honorable" Mark Baltimore (1-1, one KO). Baltimore is trying to bounce back after a tough loss to Immanuwel Aleem on October 27 in Fairfax, VA.
Frederick, MD junior featherweight Rodrigo Gabriel makes his debut and will battle Quincey Johnson of Cincinnati, OH (0-8-1).
Also on the card will be a battle of out-of-town debuting boxers as Chris Gordon of Charleston, SC takes on Ytalo Perea of Ecuador.
So what happened to Phil Jackson? Is he no longer boxing on this card?
ReplyDeleteNo. Apparently, he is waiting for his bout against MaxellTaylor on May 11 in Millersville.
ReplyDeleteOk, Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteHmmm I though Reeves was making his debut on the Keystone show
ReplyDeleteThis is a local boxing version of the good old days -- all 4-rounders with a load of pro debut boxers going at it! I hope Venroy does well.
