DC heavyweight Tony "The Tiger" Thompson will return to Liverpool, England for a rematch against British heavyweight prospect David Price, the man Thompson stunningly knocked out in the second round on February 23. The bout will be held on July 6 at the Echo Arena, the very same arena where the early candidate for upset of the year took place.
According to Dan Rafael of ESPN.com, Thompson, who does not have a promoter, has been in "secret negotiations" with Price's promoter, Frank Maloney for about two weeks before the contracts were signed earlier this week.
Price was ESPN.com's choice for Prospect of the Year in 2012 and no one gave Thompson a chance to win the bout, especially after getting knocked out for the second time against Wladimir Klitschko last July. However, Thompson stunned Price with a right hand that dropped the young prospect. Price beat the count but was in no condition to continue.
