Palmer Park, MD junior lightweight Kevin "K-Smoov" Rivers, Jr. has registered an explosive second-round TKO over Columbia, SC's Antonio Sanchez.
The bout was a solid give-and-take situation through the first round, although Rivers was wearing Sanchez down throughout the contest. In the second, Rivers let loose with a brutal right hand that made Sanchez slump onto the ropes. Referee Kenny Chevalier ruled it a knockdown as the ropes kept Sanchez from hitting the canvas. When Sanchez got up, he was in no condition to continue and the bout was stopped at 1:41 of the second.
Rivers is now 5-0, four KO's. Sanchez is now even at 1-1-1, one KO.
Next, Jarrett Hurd battles Thomas Baldwin.
