Alec Kohut has just admitted that he is gay. Give the guy credit for coming out of the closest while being involved with a sport such as boxing.

News Nearby: Man Sells Stolen Car at Maryland Junkyard as Part of Bizarre Crime
Prosecutors said the man impersonated a government worker in order to steal a 1996 Ford from an elderly woman.

A Washington, DC, man has been convicted of stealing a car from an 87-year-old woman in an elaborate scheme to tow it to a Maryland junkyard where he sold it for scrap, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia.

Thomas Williams, posed as a DC public official in order to confront the elderly woman at her Northeast Washington home and take her 1996 Ford Contour, prosecutors said in a news release.

Williams was found guilty on Tuesday of second-degree theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, false impersonation of a public official and failure to appear after a three-day trial in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 24.

In describing the theft, prosecutors said that Williams first asked a tow truck driver if he was available to tow a car to a Maryland junkyard and then drove to the victim’s home in Northeast Washington. Williams told the victim that he was from the District of Columbia government and had orders to take her car.

When the woman pleaded with Williams not to take the car, which she intended to give to one of her granddaughters, Williams took the keys out of her hand, according to prosecutors. The car was hooked to the tow truck and taken to a junkyard where Williams sold the car for scrap, the news release said.

Following up on the victim’s report, the Metropolitan Police Department traced the vehicle’s identification number to the scrap yard. After reviewing the paperwork, the MPD was able to link Williams to both the vehicle and the crime. After he was arrested, Williams was released by a Superior Court judge and ordered to return on a subsequent date. He failed to do so and was later apprehended by a fugitive task force.

I noticed that you omitted the age on this article. The person in question is 43 years old. That eliminates Thomas, Jr. The father won't be 43 until June. Thomas Williams is a common name and may not be the one we know.

What's happening is gyms are acting like gangs.. They using hand signs, banners & bull horns it's only amateur boxing it's not that serious, but when you have grown men conducting themselves in that manner also participating in this type of foolishness.. Nothing good is gonna come out of this. The boxer gonna feel that he lost to a gang & not just his opponent!!! And probably wanna take to the streets!! Amateur boxing is a sport that once you've mastered it,then your a professional boxer.. You may choose to become a prizefighter or coach... However you must conduct yourself as such at all times!!!!

All-n-all it was a great victory for Remo. The Twins are both great boxers and maybe they will become champions someday. We all celebrate victories our own way, so having a bullhorn, banners or throwing up the HB sign is just our way of doing things. If you were paying attention, Barry went to the corner and hugged the twin after the bout.

Besides, both head coaches has respect for one another.

No hate/no love lost.

Why, is it in fact a written USA Boxing rule that a coach (B Hunter) can't come into the ring and celebrate? He was on the ropes in the corner toward the direction of his HB crowd celebrating w/ them. He was not taunting the NoXcuse crowd. And yes I too saw him console the losing boxer. So what's the real complaint?

Hey this weekend was all in fun, keep what's done in the street separate from ametuar boxing.Real boxing heads respect each other. If you lost it's part of the game just like winning.Go to the gym and work on mistakes.

You right^^ ...I was thinking and I apologies 4 the comment I made on FB it was unprofessional...it's it's just boxing

Barry and Roach are good friends and have a lot of respect for each other. They always support each others club and dont take the battles between the clubs personal.

Yes its a USA rule. Coaches cant come into the ring. This is not professional. Plus that was the corner the opponent was in so it really wasnt cool at all.

What Barry did just reinforces the preconceived notion onlookers have. The notion that boxing is full of thugs who have little self control. If the opponent was in the early stages of becoming comatose would it have still been ok to do what Barry did? Brent Bovell taught me that according to rules when a boxer is injured and down the only people in the ring are to be the Official, the Doctor and the Boxer. What is this hypocrisy? Celebrate the beatdown while we are waiting for the opponent to regain consciuousness?
