Peterson May Return With Big Bout In May In DC, Says!

Lamont Peterson's successful title defense Friday night may pay big financial dividends for himself and the city.'s Dan Rafael is reporting that Peterson's first bout under the Golden Boy Promotions banner (as a Golden Boy boxer) may be a unification bout against WBC Interim champ Lucas Matthysse of Argentina that would take place on May 18 right back in DC.  Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer told Lem Satterfield of that Verizon Center would be the place to have the bout.

The bout would be on Showtime with a co-feature that would match IBF Welterweight champ Devon Alexander of St. Louis, MO defending against undefeated Kell Brook of England.

We'll keep you posted on this one.
