Ringside Report Talks To Kisner; Kisner Calls Out July!

My good buddy, "Bad" Brad Berkwitt, the editor of Ringside Report, recently spoke to undefeated cruiserweight "Slick" Nick Kisner about his career. A big part of the interview was Kisner's wish list for 2013 which includes a bout with fellow undefeated Beltway cruiser Venroy "Hardwork" July

Is this a bout Beltway fans want to see happen in 2013?

Before I post the link, let me say something in the interest of full disclosure.  Kisner (11-0-1, five KO's) also spoke to me about this subject. I wanted to wait until we finished with the year-end awards before I put something out about this, since I believe this will be something that will garner a lot of discussion.  In the meantime, I also wanted to talk to July (12-0-2, five KO's) to get his view on the subject.  July would not comment on a proposed bout.  Since Brad's story already covers what I wanted to talk about, I'm posting his interview with Kisner instead.

Here is the link:  Ringside Report Interview with Nick Kisner

LMAO...I guess it is is true that you aren't doing something right until you have internet beef, but to be honest I am not from the school where you air business on the internet so I will address this once and once only. This is Venroy "Hardwork" July. So I have heard through various third parties that you want to fight me, which I find fascinating because you have seen me at multiple events, on multiple occassions and have never once said a word to me about fighting, then you run telling everyone that you want to fight me, post it on facebook (eventhough you and I are not facebook friends) and now in internet interviews. I am obviously doing something right. I wonder why is a guy that had over 100 amateur fights and 12 pro-fights calling out someone who had 9 amateur fights and 15 pro fights. You keep calling my name because nobody is mentioning yours. Your hardest fight was against the same Deleon Tinsley that I beat in my sixth fight? While you are obsessed about fighting me, I am obsessing about how I continue to get better and get to fight Garrett Wilson and then Marco Huck. Sorry, Nick, I don't think about you at all. No need for the tough guy bravado. There is no room for emotions in business. My advice to you would be to keep winning, I will do the same and trust me if you get to the point that it is worth something more than being the best cruiserweight in Maryland (which isn't even necessarily true as Alex Guerrero is doing a nice job with some good wins), then I will prove my point. Apologize Nick, and do so publicly, and maybe I will get you on a Hardwork Promotions card in the future.

July shouldnt fight kisner its stupid. He would lose a decision and lose the oppurtunity to fight Garrett Wilson which is a winable fight.

July is a man and nick is just an immature kid.a

Venroy would punish Kisner. Venroy is too damn strong for the child. A mam has more strength than any child.

Venroy July is such a class act. So professional even after the blown-up middle-weights call out.
I suggest that if Nick wants to fight on any of "Hardworks" up-coming cards, he apologize for his dumb child like statements concerning July. It wasn't long ago that Nick walked in the gym making a complete fool of himself asking to spar July. This all happen after Kisner waited for July to finish his 2 1/2 hour work-out. He was too scared to ask while Venroy was fresh.

Is this the nick who's was afraid to spar wit Danny Kelly over at Old School

Just apologize Nick and learn from your mistakes. Deleon Tinsley

This is Nick Kisner-Venroy you are a very smart business man that is why you will not take this fight you know you can not win it. You madge the comment that I have not personally brought this to you Thats because the last few times I have seen you were at events you were fighting on and out of respect just let you focus on your bussiness as we both know I have wanted this fight for a while now but being nice about it has not worked so however it comes to you through the great vine through an interview hell even through a dream. I want your point of view. You say why would a fighter like me with 120 amatuer fights want to fight someone like you with 9. Are you saying I'm a bully? Last time I checked this is the pros I'm 11-0 and your 13-0 its fair game. I want to prove I'm the best in maryland thats all I'm focused on. I clearly told Gary that we can fight for any organization title that you please a win over another undefeated kid is all you would need to seal the deal with wilson I'm sure the USBA would like the idea we can do 8 or 10 rds ......I'm not done yet.....

This is nick kisner. Venroy you are a very smart buissness man, and that's why you will not take this fight. You know you cannot win. You make the comment that I have not personally brought this to you? The last few times I have seen you was at the weigh ins for your fights, and out of respect for another fighter, I let you focus on the task ahead. As me and you both know I have wanted this fight for a while now. But trying to become nice about it did not work. So regardless of how it comes to you through the great vine, through an interview, through a dream regardless of how it has came to you, it has now came to you, and your answer that everyone sees is a NO!!! But next time I see you I will personally remind myself to personally talk to you about this fight. I would love to hear your point of view. You state why would a fighter like me who had 120 amatuer fights, want to fight a guy with 9?? Are you saying that I am a bully?? Last time I checked this was the pros. You are 13-0 and I am 11-0 it is fair game. And when you state that I want to prove in the best in Maryland and that's all im focused on? I clearly told Gary that we can fight for any orginization title that you please so that the winner gets big props. Maybe a win over another undefeated kid would seal that deal with you getting a shot at Wilson. I'm sure if you talk to the usba they might like the idea. We can do 8 or 10 rounds whatever one you please. You also state that I said my toughest opponent was Deleon tinsley, in which I did. Please explain what the hell that has to do with me vs you? I'm lost with that. You bring up the name Alex Guerrero? I would love any of these fights. But seeing me and you have the top 2 records, and seeing that me vs you is more of what people want to see then me vs Guerrero, I thought that it would be a better idea. Obviously not to you though. In your last fight in md against howes, I left after Sensibaugh fight do to the fact I had no interest in watching you fight howes. I thought it would be a total mismatch in your favor I had no interest in watching it. But after getting a few phone calls I regretted that I had left to watch the Chavez jr vs lee fight. And at the same time very shocked. Howes has 4 loses on his record. In which he was stopped in all of the other 3 besides you, an not even that from what I hear he have you all you could handle and more. And i dont doubt that i am not on your mind. Why do little kids not try and think about the boogeyman under there bed at night? simple, it wears on there mind. It seems that everyone besides you has interest in seeing this fight. But in the end it's your opinion and decision that matters. Boxing is a game that you can make your own decisions an obviously I won't be one of them for you regardless of what you say. But again next time I will be sure when I see you fighting or not to come up to you and personally talk to you about this fight and hear your point of view. Of course I will be turned down once more but hell what do I have to lose?? You are a very intelligent man, and I really mean when I say that you will be successful as a promoter in my opinion. Good luck to you!!

July would be the breaks off Kisner this is a fight I would definitly want see....it NBC Sports worthy it should be for a minor title on the next NBC card

Me thinks a nascar fan has penetrated our ranks. How else can one explain the euphimism "beating the brakes off of" being used to describe the results of a fight. Do Boxers have brakes on them? In the ring?

Anonymous said...

no but your MAMMA does

Anonymous said...

I an indeed a Nascar fan I didn't realize that beating the breaks off someone was limited to one sport i've always used it lol

This would be a fun fight to watch and a good fight for both fighters. Sigmon and Nicklow squared off and both went on to bigger paydays. I would looks to see both these guys step up in competition, get some more experience and square off for the Maryland State title. In fact why not do a three fight elimination with Alex, nick Vernon and cory. Now that would sell tickets and give some needed experience to all involved. Venroy, don't look down your nose at Nick, he may be just the fight you need.

That would be nice, not because of skills , but because they hate One another

Terry Roy will fight either one of you .
