There is a lot of movement with the Keystone Boxing card slated for Saturday, January 12th at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, MD. The big news is that undefeated DC welterweight Dusty Harrison will not be on the card.
As Harrison told BATB in the most recent Post-Fight Wrap-Up, the camp wanted to step-up the competition. However, finding that competition proved to be difficult, so Harrison will wait until the February card at the Washington Convention Center.
As of right now, the previously announced six-round matchup between Beltway junior middleweights Alantez "Slyaza" Fox of Forestville, MD and "Relentless" Julius Kennedy of Baltimore, MD is the main event, but that could change, according to Keystone officials.
Two other bouts are set for this card. District Heights, MD super featherweight Renaldo "Misunderstood" Gaines returns to action in a four-round contest against Baltimore's Darrell Martin. Gaines (3-1) is coming off a four-round unanimous decision over Alan Beeman on November 3 at the Washington Convention Center. Martin (4-13, one KO) will be trying to break a seven-bout losing streak.
Also, "The King's Son" Jerry Odom of DC (1-0, one KO, one NC) will take on Anthony Madden of Biloxi, MS (0-2) in a four-round super middleweight bout.
Beltway Boxers Kevin "K-Smoov" Rivers, Jr., Dillon "The Stalker" Hayman and "Swift" Jarrett Hurd are all slated to be on the card. No word yet on opponents.
There will also be a pro debut on the card. Palmer Park, MD cruiserweight Mario Murphy is slated to battle against Lamont Capers of Hawley, PA (1-0).
(Updated as DeAndre Davis and Anthony Cintron are no longer on the card.)
Anthony Citron is the younger brother of Kermit Citron.
ReplyDeleteAnthony Madden is suspended because he has suffered 2 devasting knockouts recently.
ReplyDeleteDusty's not fighting he was the only reason for the season not coming to this one but when Dusty returns I'll return
ReplyDeleteLol the only reason dusty not fighting because he scared to take a step up bout come on other beltway boxers keep it up
ReplyDeleteDusty scared? I don't think so, he wants better competition. I think he should of fought to stay busy and continue to build his fan base.
ReplyDeleteHe is too young to know better. He makes too much money and probably blows every bit of it. All boxers end up broke.
ReplyDeletehe fought 9 times in 2012, looks very busy to me. He will end up leaving the area just like the rest of them. no one remembers where they came from.
ReplyDeleteIf anybody's scared it's not Dusty it's Buddy
ReplyDeleteRegardless if Dusty is on the card or not. This is one of the best cards that has ever been in Md. Don't be cheap-get a good seat! This card is worth every bit of the $40.00 General Admission Ticket. The prices mave have risen, but so has the fights. Get your tickets early. This is the best yet. You snooze-you looze!
ReplyDelete$40.00 General is well worth it. Most people have no clue what the promoter goes through. In fact, if you read correctly, this card was changed several times.
ReplyDeleteTHE PROMOTER DOESNT GO THROUGH ANYTHING...THE MATCHMAKER GOES THROUGH THE TROUBLE...KEYSTONE DOESNT EVEN PUT POSTERS AROUND TOWN OR PAY FOR RADIO ADVERTISEMENT..AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES PROMOTERS...THE FIGHTERS HAVE TO SELL THEIR OWN TICKETS TO EVEN GET ON THE CARD!!!
ReplyDeleteMaryland doesn't allow the half dead opponents Dusty is use to. He pulled off a card at his home gym. Not just his home town. Dusty has to fight an opponent with a winning record. Fox is fighting J Kennedy. This is a test Fox probably will lose. I'll pay just to see this one. See you idiots back at the Convention Center where Dusty can fight the usual 2-30 guys you love to see him fight. Good job Buddy. Keep milking these fanidiots
ReplyDeleteNow you know the truth Dusty will never fight in Maryland because Maryland will not allow that bullshit the D.C commissioner do put 11& 0 fighter against a 2&13 fighter Buddy knows the truth
DeleteFox ain't losing nothing, in fact, he will out-class this guy easy. If you are paying to see him lose, well you are wasting your money. You are little off on Dusty. He was scheduled to fight Nick Casal who is 22-3 or something very close to that. You will not see Dusty at the convention because Keystone is not putting on their cards anymore. He has priced himself out by asking for too much money. He is now on the road being an oppenant in someone elses home-town. That's what happen when you get greedy!!! Kid had it made in DC. Oh well>
ReplyDeletei heard it from the horses mouth, gene looked out for him and he wouldnt fight in md. gene paid him more than $5,000 on certain fights. now hes done in md and dc. he might be 11-0 but he will not be able to fight in dc or md ever again. keystone is the only promotion company around here and dustys greedy butt is done around here.
ReplyDeleteHe is barely 18. He could care less about Keystone or anyone else. Give him some gas money and a blunt and he riding high.
ReplyDeleteHow is Gene greedy? he could sell the slots on the card to out of town promoters but instead uses local fighters and pays them a purse plus % of ticket sales. If people think he's getting rich off these fights they are stupid or have no idea the expenses that go into promoting a pro boxing card. If it was easy there would be more people doing it.
ReplyDeleteBottom line! Harrison was fired from Keystone and will never be permitted to fight in DC again. He has ruined a good thing. Keystone paid him well. Harrison has no right to say he's only fighting in Washington DC. If you fight on Keystones card, you need to go where they go.
ReplyDeleteIf not, you made your bed, now lie in it. Harrison's career has ended at 11-0.
Team Dusty has said several times that Keystone treated him more than fair. In fact, they must have, for he has had 11 fights with them before this Maryland DC conflict came into play. Personally, I think it's the kids choice where, who, and if he fights at all. If he chooses to remain in DC, so be it. Perhaps he was spoiled with all this money coming his way. I know for a fact that Keystone paid him dearly. Maryland was the problem, not Keystone.
ReplyDeleteLook you sorry mofos! This is breaking news! Gary Williams is now Dusty's manager and he aint taking no shitz ya feelz me? Like he pumped his pumper in that Babie girl promoter, he is going to pump Dusty into a world title this year! Any man who bangs ring card girls, babie Girl I think her namez is Cassandra too, you don't want to mess with.
ReplyDeleteAllen Johnson, B-more in da house
Um. that's not true.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think it was true Gary..... Doug from Oldschool checking in!
ReplyDeleteThat's crazy Gary people say anything on the other hand I'm makeing my come back fight in the heavy et divsion and dt late who card I'm on in just trying to reckon BIG TICKET MCRAE pain dt last forever god bless
