Russell Devastates Castaneda In Three!

Another night, another brutal knockout for Capitol Heights, MD featherweight "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr.

In front of a national television audience, Russell threw a brutal right hand and crushed Roberto Castaneda of Mexico midway through the third round tonight at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA.

Russell's knockout blow came at 1:45 of the third and earned a great description by Showtime analyst Steve Farhood:

"He folded him along the dotted lines."

Russell is now 21-0, 12 KO's.  Castaneda falls to 20-3-1, 15 KO's.

Russell keeps beating BUMS and padding his record. He looks good going up against guys like Castaneda. I guarantee you he won’t be doing this against the top guys in his division. Sure he has ability, but like the commentators have been saying, it’s time to step it up. He hasn’t proven anything until he beats anyone that’s have decent. I’m not sold on this kid at all. Just wait until he fights one of the top guys. Look at Russell’s record. He needs to step it up now. No more excuses..

These types of WINS are not impressive to ME. Look at Broner who is YOUNGER than Russell Jr…..he’s already facing the #1 CHAMP in his Division. Broner is about to become a legitimate CHAMP while he leaves Russell Jr. and Canelo as PROSPECTS.
