Weights From DC!

Here is the scale watch for Saturday's Babie Girl Productions Card at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC:

Tyrieshia Douglas 109 vs. Ashley Langston 109

Terron Grant 133 vs. Devirous Sanders 135

David Grayton 149 vs. Gregory Joyner 144

Kaelon Hollon 206 vs. Kasondra Hartnett 246

Gregory Newby 172 vs. Orion Bolds 200

Danny Kelly 240 vs. Opponent will weigh in tomorrow

Donnell Holmes 233 vs. Maurice Winslow 223

Jerry Forrest 235 vs. Keon Graham 235

Henry Buchanan will be on the card but in an exhibition bout against local Charles Burgess and that puts the Holmes-Winslow bout as the main event.  Devirous Sanders of Zeflin, GA (0-3) is a late substitute.  If they don't find a late sub for Danny Kelly, there is a possibility that Orion Bolds of Canton, OH may end up fighting him.  Bolds, who is a debuting boxer, weighed in at the cruiserweight limit against Newby, who is debuting as a light heavyweight.

The DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission says this card will make history as two female referees will work this card.  The commission says that is a first ever situation in boxing.  The referees will be Michelle Myers and Sharon Sands.

In related news, this card also make history as the most unorganized disaster of a professional boxing event in DC history.

It might be unorganized, but there is a lot of talent on the card.

Agreed. At the end of the day, DG, DK and GN will all be 1-0 and they can move on to bigger and better things.

How is gods name do you not have an opponent for the main event. Absolute nonsense

Don't forget Forrest, he'll be undefeated too. Big puncher and athletic, he and Kelly could be top heavyweights if they train hard.

Please tell me that this show is free? It's the only way to get people to come. Also, how is Gregory Newby who weighed 172 fighting Onion head Bolds who weighed in at 207???

Dhafir Smith, who was slated to be Buchanan's opponent, backed out at the last minute, wanting too much money.

As I said in the post, Bolds might end up fighting Danny Kelly because of his weight. Bolds was a last-minute sub for David Wilson-Huffman who was slated to be Newby's opponent. Newby may not be on this card after all.

Why don't you be her savior like you are to Keystone? LMFAO

Savior keystone was doing really well before me and they will continue to do well long after me. Despite the opponent issue it should be a great show with a lot of local talent, any show is a good show.

What time do the fights start? Raddision address in DC?

Looking forward to a great night of fights!
The Renaissance Hotel is at 999 9th Street, NW. From the Gallery Place Metro exit near the Chinatown arch, walk down H Street away from the arch towards 9th street. Make a right on 9th street, and the Renaissance Hotel will be on your right just after "I" street. I believe the fights start at 6 pm. Looking forward to watching Terron, Donnell, and Kaelon!

Actually the doors open at 6 PM and the fights start around 7:30. Thank you for posting the directions! Most appreciated!

Whatbr ticket prices? Where can they be bought?

I checked a week ago and nothing about this card was listed on barbirgirls web site. A web search located only a brief mention in boxing along the beltway. This gives the impression that the event is a poorly managed fiasco.

Tickets are $35, $50 and $75 General admission and $100 ringside. I believe tickets can still be purchased at the Renaissance tonight.

I hope to be able to blog tonight from the show.
