Local Boxing Documentary Gets Free Screening August 22 in DC!

A brand new boxing documentary featuring boxers from a local gym gets a free screening on Wednesday, August 22 at Harrison Recreation Center and Park located at 1330 V Street, NW in DC.

The name of the documentary is "Into The Lime Lite" and it was created by members of the George Washington University Documentary Center.  The documentary is a short film focusing on members of the Lime Lite Gym in DC -- specifically Greg Newby -- as they prepare for a bout on the recent Belfast-Beltway Boxing Classic amateur card.  This short film will be shown before the feature film, The American President.

This will be an outdoor screening, so bring a blanket and a picnic dinner if you'd like.  It is free.  The gates will open at 7 PM and the film will start at sunset.

By the way, Newby is slated to make his pro debut on the Keystone Boxing card on Saturday, August 25 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Good thing it's free because Brian Dillon would have skimmed from the gate.

Boxing in the DMV has really changed, for a lot of these cards they are $50 but all of the fights are fixed or bums.
