Beltway Amateurs Begin Competition at Ringside World Championships in Kansas City!

A host of local amateurs are participating in the 2012 Ringside World Championships which begin today at the KCI Expo Center in Kansas City, MO.  This is a huge event that is starting with six rings being used. 

In today's first session, Waldorf, MD's Jordan White will be in the Boys 13-14, 95 Pounds Open competition facing off against Zack Bartrum of Chesapeake, OH.  White won Ringside titles in 2010 and 2011.

In the Boys 11-12, 80 Pounds Open Division, Cornell Gray of DC will take on Nathan Bell of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

In the Boys Novice 11-12, 95 Pounds division, Edwin Angel of Lanham, MD will take on Justin Pineda of Laredo, TX.

In the Boys Open 13-14, 125 Pounds division, Gregory Ross, Jr. of Temple Hills, MD faces Josue Vargas of Bronx, NY.

In the Boys Open 15-16, 132 Pounds class, Lamont Roach, Jr. of Upper Marlboro, MD squares off against Jonathan Garza of Eagle Pass, TX.  Roach is the defending Ringside champ at this weight and age class.

In the Boys Novice 15-16, 138 Pounds division, Tyler Banks of DC takes on Laron Sylvest of Indianapolis, IN.

The Boys Novice 9-10, 80 Pounds division has Lamont Tate of DC battling Jose McDonald of Elgin, OK.'

The Boys Novice 15-16, 165 Pounds class will have John Vargas of Delmar, MD taking on Windfred Harris, Jr. of  Detroit, MI.

We'll try to keep tabs on the progress of these and other Beltway amateurs who will be battling in the evening session.  The tournament ends on August 5.
