Crews, Shen Open With Victories At Women's World Championships!

Beltway Boxers Franchon Crews and Dara Shen got off to great starts at the AIBA Women's World Championships in Qinhuangdao, China.

Crews of the United States who boxes out of Baltimore, won a decision over Sabrina Delarue of France, 22-8 in a light heavyweight bout.  Crews will next face Dariga Shakimova of Kazakhstan in the next round.

Fairfax, VA's Shen, who is boxing for Chinese Taipei in the middleweight bracket, scored an RSC-4 over Claudia Heijns of the Republic of South Africa. Shen was leading 25-9 at the time of the stoppage.  No word yet on who Shen's opponent will be in the next round.
