BATB speaks to newly-crowned WBA/IBF Super Lightweight champion Lamont Peterson shortly after Peterson received the Key to the City from Washington, DC Mayor Vincent Gray earlier today at the John A. Wilson Building.

We also talked to former WBA and IBF Super Lightweight champion and Beltway Boxing legend Sharmba Mitchell to get his historical perspective on this great moment!

We also talked to proud brother Anthony Peterson during this wonderful family moment.

What a great accomplishment! Just like Anthony said, "The American Dream!"

Mitchell sounded good. I wish all boxers spoke as well once their career is over.

We've got some real world class talent right now: Seth Mitchell, Lamont Peterson, Anthony Peterson, Tony Thompson, Gary Russel, Jr. Our area is a true hotbed of boxing talent.

Gary I know their has been some criticism in the media toward the DC boxing commission do you know if the mayor is at all involved and talking with the commission?

Lamont is a good person,Congrads!!

The Mayor isn't really involved in this situation. I don't even think the criticism towards the DC Commission is justified. The commission has the backing of the DC government but that's as far as it goes.
