First Announced Card of 2012 At Patriot Center February 11!

The first announced boxing card of 2012 will be a card taking place on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the George Mason University Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. The card is slated to feature three title bouts.

Great Falls, VA junior middleweight and WBU Junior Middleweight titleholder Jimmy Lange will be defending his title against an opponent to be determined.

Ashburn, VA middleweight and WBC Middleweight champ Tori "ShoNuff" Nelson will go after her second world title, the vacant WIBA title. The third title bout is still to be announced.

One bout is set for the card and it should be an exciting clash of Beltway middleweights as Tony "Mo Better" Jeter of Stevensville, MD takes on Zain "Tiger" Shah of Chantilly, VA.

Undefeated Fairfax, VA junior welterweight Todd "White Lightning" Wilson is also slated to be on the card.

  3. I think it's absolutely comical the prices they charge for Jimmy Lange fights. The card at the convention center is featuring world class fighters and is actually cheaper to attend. The last few fights I have attended at the Patriot Center have had terrible attendance. Lower prices and bring in some better talent and maybe people will start attending these fights again.

  4. agreed
    The prices are silly.
The ring girls use to look good but now are turning into cows.
The fights for the most part are pre determined and that Metallica
music and the johnny cash theme
are starting to be the same ole same ole. There have been some exciting fighters at the place but
    haven't seen them in sometime.
I think really ,enough is enough.

  5. Need better fighters on the card this time around

  7. We will see if Jeter Shah actually happens. If it does you have Jeter who comes in face first with no jab and looking to land a right hand. Then you have Shah who paws with the jab and tries to throw the right hand. The difference is that Shah has real power where Jeter just stops bums. I would say Shah will get this one.

  8. I think Tony will give Zain a go for his money!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Im excited about the Jeter Shah fight. I think they are both taking a chance with this one and thats what i want to see when i buy a ticket..not some one sided bullshit

    ReplyDelete
  10. Todd Wilson will be fighting quality opposition. His team knows that a fighter grows by fighting better guys each time. We will be ready.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Same fighters.. same fights.. fat ring girls. not paying or going this time.. rather watch real fights at convention center for cheaper. prices are not silly..they're insane..
    I agree.. enough is enough.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well if they will stop having the same ol fighters.Mybe they can pack the place same ol fighters fight there

    ReplyDelete
  13. Man, todd wilson is a bum beater for real! A fighter grows with each fight huh? If that's the case than todd needs to stop puting himself in the same class as other-good- local fighters. All of his opponents have been terrible! It seems that something was awful funny with the dean white fight....I mean white beat ryan belasco ....who is better than wilson and appeared to do nothing against cream puff wilson. If you look at local 140lb talent wilson is on the bottom of the list, I put his boy edgar over him

    ReplyDelete
  14. todd wilson ryan belasco der u go

  15. TODD WILSON AND RYAN B WOULD BE A GOOD ONE. WHO ELSE IS FIGHTING ON THIS CARD?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Manny Taylor vs Raymond Serrano
    James Stevenson vs Rashad Holloway
    Todd Wilson vs Rayan Balsco.
    Jeter vs Shah
Now this would be a card I would sit front row at. Who win???????

  17. A lot of hate for the cards but you know exactly what you are getting when you get to a Jimmy Lange fight. The fights are designed for casual fans who want to spend a night out and watch some non-threatening suburban boxing.

The usual: Lange vs. Tomato Can main event (sometimes, the can wins) and a couple of popular to almost-popular NoVa fighters with easy fights mixed in with one (occasionally two) actual competitive fights.

Throw in a white fighter or 3 beating completely shot and/or punch drunk, broke former champions who need the cash and you have the average fight card.

Everyone already knows so no sense to beat a head horse.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think Jeter Shah is intriguing enough for me to pay 35.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Contrary to what some of Jimmy Lange's opponents have looked like on paper, I would hardly call them "tomato cans." I have been to all 13? Patriot Center cards, since the first with Perry Ballard. With the possible exception of Jimmy LeBlanc, I wouldn't call any of Lange's victories "easy."

In nearly every Patriot Center bout, Lange has had to take some serious punishment and dig deep for his victories. I'm not sure whether it's the chance to jump-start their careers, or whether the fact that for most, it's the biggest fight of their careers, but Jimmy Lanage's opponents have a knack for rising to the occasion and showing up to fight.

As far as Northern Virginia fighters getting easy opponents, that's not always the case either. Andrew "Doo Man" Farmer's two losses, Jennifer Salinas's loss to Forget, and Zain Shaw's very fortunate decision the fight before last all attest to that.

Finally, I'll respond to the claim, made earlier, that the ticket prices are out of whack. After 13 Patriot Center boxing shows, neither the Langes nor ICE Promotions set the ticket prices, the market does.

If the ticket prices were too high, the shows would lose money and be unable to sustain the run they have had. I agree with the previous poster that by now, fans know exactly what to expect from a Patriot Center Boxing card. And enough of them have deemed it well-worth the price of admission to keep those shows going.

  20. Manny Taylor vs Raymond Serrano
    James Stevenson vs Rashad Holloway
    Todd Wilson vs Rayan Balsco.
    Jeter vs Shah
Now this would be a card I would sit front row at.

MY PICS ARE SERRANO, HOLLOWAY, BALSCO, AND JETER. THATS 100% G

  21. Why not put wilson against farmer? This would be a major step up for wilson. This would be a fight that would sell and it would be entertaining! I think farmer would take it....don't know if wilson would. I would pay to see this addition to the card. Though wilson would have to come out of his 4 to 6 round status.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What do you say to that bruce frank?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wilson would never fight Farmer for two reasons. Farmer is a much better and skilled fighter and Wilson is afraid to come off that 4 -6 round status. Look at the baby fat he carries.

    ReplyDelete
  24. man there sure are a lot of haters just because that white boy with baby fat has some wins and can fight a little bit.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Farmer will have it's time with Wilson just not now,and Wilson will outbox him..Andrew is fighting the same bums overe n over again.

    ReplyDelete
  26. that's an interesting opinion of me and that fight. I'm glad to see everyone on here is still making classy comments.

  27. You will see what happened come 1/1/12. And when you see it you will only be able to say two words to me, just two. And those two words will be, "THANK YOU!"

    Signed,

    You're Welcome!

    ReplyDelete
  28. No need for the disrespect we are all grown ups it's just peoples opinions that's all but it"ll be a good fight

    ReplyDelete
  29. then let someone come up witha contract and make it happen? and what the hell is supposed to be happening on 1/1/12?

    signed,

    I wanna know

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes, Joe H is incompetent but he's not as bad a person as you say. You have too watch him and he will try to get over on you, but he's not rotten to the core that I know of.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 2012 that's when the fight will happen maybe you"ll have to wait and see.And other big things coming just sit back and watch

    ReplyDelete
  32. i guess we will sit back and wait for that to happen. Why dont you sign your name so we can hold you to that statement?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Don't draw attention to Joe Hensley he's a cheating stealing shameless self-promoter that feeds off every mention of his name.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jeter backed out, I can't say I'm surprised, Jeter had no shot against Shah's right hand. Don't understand why he would announce taking the fight, then back out knowing the inevitable.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Jeter is allegedly fighting on his own show in January now. If that's the case, why doesn't he fight Shah on that show? Tony is scared of fighting anybody challenging. All of this talk about Tony vs Lange or Tony vs Dusty is for nothing because the guy is a coward.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Did Jeter really back out?????

If so why?He finally had a name bout-I dont understand why he wouldnt go with it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Farmer would be wilson's first real fight. He would try to run and box but would eventually slip up and get caught. Or he could be stupid and come at farmer. Either way farmer by ko. If you don't agree...you will be a believer after the bout. That's if wilson's people would dare to take that fight. Jeter....the guy can actually fight. He just walks around like the tin man. Too bad, wouldve been a good fight.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They have offered him name opponents before..he just refuses to fight anybody with a decent record at this point. Jeter can fight but he has zero heart

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jeter CAN'T fight hes got not heart and no balls and no chin

    ReplyDelete
  40. What bums has farmer fought over and over.Inquiring minds want to know?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Farmer trumps Jeter...Jeter won't fight ANYBODY

    ReplyDelete
  42. todd wilson will not fight farmer doo man will knock him out plain and simple

    ReplyDelete
  43. all todd has to say is he wants the fight and i know doo man will be there beat his ass so if ur not scared todd say u want the fight do it to show what kind of heart u got

    ReplyDelete
  44. Damn Farmers peoples want a fight with Wilson bad because wilson got money on his face he is in to better and bigger stuff at this point andrew will have his time.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You know, I don't think that fight would happen but if it does this is the most likely scenario. Plus it's fun to talk about. And I'm talking about Andrew Farmer vs Todd Wilson. Andrew has the skills, speed, height, power, and jab to beat Wilson with EASE! But the problem is that Farmer sometimes loses his cool and sometimes doesn't fight a fight that gives him his best chance to win. If Farmer loses his cool and starts to slug with Wilson then Wilson would have his best chance of beating him. Regardless of his KO percentage Todd can punch a little bit and he's physically strong and tough. But if I had to pick a winner, I would go with Farmer because he has all the tools to beat Wilson. He's got the height, the reach, the jab, the movement, the speed and if Wilson makes it past that jab (forget that crap that you can't throw a jab against a southpaw, that's crap! A southpaw throws a jab against you, right?) Andrew has that right hand that would make Wilson pay. Wilson is tough and he'll take it but I see Wilson's Achilles' heel in this bout as being wide with his shots and Farmer beats him to the punch in an exchange and gets him out of there. But it would be a GREAT fight between two guys who are both warriors.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And something else. Andrew's Dad is a hell of a trainer. Very, very under rated and definitely one of the Top 3 trainers in the Beltway. Farmer's head trainer would be at or near the bottom of a list of trainers. Corner advantage, Andrew Farmer.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I meant Wilson's heard trainer would be at or near the list of a bottom of trainers and Farmer's Dad would be in the Top 3 of trainers in MD, VA, or DC.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Farmer's Dad is a lousy trainer. Did nothing for me. Worst one I ever had. Get out of his pocket.

    ReplyDelete
  49. you probably couldnt fight a lick

    ReplyDelete
  50. Mo wetter jetter will never fight anybody with a name

    ReplyDelete
  51. And Wilson is a bum I seen his buddy Edgar whip him in sparing at Leo"s

    ReplyDelete
  52. haha "mo wetter jeter". Classic.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jeter is a nice guy and a very good boxer, take it easy on him.

    Zain

    ReplyDelete
  54. Pure Class Zain. people don't know Zain is very humble, i have big respect for the guy. The most genuinely nice local fighter i met. actually person for that matter. Best wishes on your next fight champ
