Final Beltway Boxing Card of 2011 is in Virginia Saturday Night!

The final Beltway Boxing card of 2011 will take place this Saturday at the Fort Myer/Henderson Hall Joint Military Base located at 1555 South Gate Road in Arlington, VA. This is The "Bulldog Brawl at Henderson Hall," a pro-am card with six pro bouts and three or four amateur contests. The promotional company is RBA Promotions.

The main event will feature former Undisputed Cruiserweight champion O'Neil "Supernova" Bell of Atlanta, GA by way of Jamaica. Bell (26-4-1, 24 KO's) will be trying to break a three-bout losing streak when he faces Rico Cason of Hermitage, TN (17-20, five KO's) Cason has lost eight of his last nine bouts, all losses coming by knockout.

The four-round co-feature marks the return of undefeated Haymarket, VA welterweight Juan "The Savior" Rodriguez who will face Staunton, VA's Richie Andrews in a four-round contest. Rodriguez (4-0-1, four KO's) has not fought since battling to a six-round draw with Dontre King on July 10, 2010 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Andrews (1-0-3) is coming off a four-round draw against Justin Johnson on November 23 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Stevensville, MD middleweight Tony "Mo Better" Jeter will be on the card and he will take on Jose Felix of Richmond Hill, VA in a six-round contest. Jeter (12-2-1, nine KO's) last fought on November 19 and won a four-round unanimous decision over Ken Dunham. Felix(10-11-2, three KO's) has lost nine straight and last fought in the area on September 10, losing to Lawrence Jones by six-round unanimous decision. The bout will be for a minor title (USBU -- United States Boxing Union).

Other local boxers on the card include Sherman Artis, Jr. of Severn, MD (2-0) who will take on DC veteran Larry "The Gladiator" Brothers (8-35-3, three KO's) in a four-round contest.

There will be two more pro bouts featuring out of town boxers.

Jeter is fighting a guy who has lost nine straight? No wonder Jeter backed out against his announced fight with Z. Shah. Shah can fight!

C-Mon Tony
enough is enough.
This is really atarting to be sickening.
Are you really that afraid?
You ,at one time could really fight and weren't afraid to.
Did that one KO loss take every bit of heart from you?

I do not understand how the Jeter bout got approved???And I understand the record building but at what point do you make your move?
I dont think it was the ko loss that took his heart-I think it was his first loss that did-Sometimes you think you are better then you really are and when he lost maybe he realized he wasnt as good as he thought and taking these easy fights allows him to hold onto the dream of making it big-not trying to sound too harsh but his bouts are becoming a joke.

you should get in the ring yourself so we can all see what real fighting is all about, since your talking saying that the fighters on the card cant fight

Larry Brothers? Are you kidding me? Wait before I go, is Henry "Crybaby" Jones going to be the ring announcer? If not, it's becauase he is black ya heard!

Not because any other reason, but he is black. Ya Heard!

Jeter has no heart at all.
Fights all bums. I mean all bums. He knows it. He and Jimmy Lange have more than race in common. Mo'better what? I saw him get knocked out at a fight he promoted. It was hilarious!
Club fighter at best.
All these dc middleweights in the area and he fights bums. How do you look at yourself in the mirror. This is why people stray away from boxing because of fighters like him who don't take risks but want you to pay $60+ to see a bum fight a bum.

Thank god that we have real contenders coming our of the DMV.

And whos 'paying to see larry brothers fight. 8-35. Seen him get knocked out at least 5 times. LOL
Biggest bum in the sport.
Come on man!
You dont' move your head, your slow, and flatfooted Seriously. Your an embarassment to yourself and the sport. Let it go and take up golf. Your a good dude but your gonna get yourself killed.

I agree.

Jeter is a bum. That record is BS. He takes no risks at all. Its cool, at least he knows his limitations.

Scared money don't make no money. He can't be making significant money by fighting scrubs.

At least Larry Brother has heart and fights all. I one time saw him fight one of the Dirrell Brothers. He got knocked out, but at least he had heart to take the fight and wasn't scared. At the end of the day you will be more respected and feel better about yourself.

Jeter! Come on man.

You ain't never lied.

This Dude Jeter comes into the ring with all these fans he brought with him like he's a prize fighter. He is a joke. Ain't nothing mo'better about him. With your record you could get a fight with a contender. But than again, if all you have is a right hand, you won't go but so far. That's all he has at best. Larry Brother should be your next opponent. He's typical of your past fighters. Go to boxrec.com and look at the record of jeter's opponenets. embarrassing!

What time do the fights start? I'm always game to watch a few knockouts.

There is a lot of low self esteem in this forum.

Jeter did not back out of his fight with Shah to fight Jose Felix, this fight has been in the works for months. Tony was slotted to fight in December regardless of the February Shah fight.

Now in regards to who he fights in February it is not determined. He has said to me on countless occasions I will fight Shah in Maryland anytime. He has no hope of winning a decision in Virigina. Although that fight wouldn't got the distance in my opinion.

The fight is a good fight for any show and worth the Beltway's interest. It is a pure economical decision. Make a decent purse on the 11th or make a great purse on the 18th.

Where can I purchase tickets?

I was at the Khan - Peterson fight and to me, and this is just my personal opinion, I understood Henry Jones much better than I did Micheal Buffer. Same acoustics, mic, etc. I had no idea who they tolled the 10 count for because I couldn't understand Mr. Buffer, but when Mr. Jones announced the next fight, I understood just about every word. For what it's worth.

If you guys think thats intriguing then check this video out... it will explain everything! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qajKAit2Gmw

Brian it's very easy to say I'll fight Shah in Maryland anytime but you,I and everyone else knows that Tony says that because he knows that Shah will not come to Maryland so it makes it easy to say bring him to Maryland and I'll beat his hind parts. And are you the matchmaker for Jeter Promotions? If so I guess that explains why you are taking up for Jeter. You fucking people are really funny.

Brian said...

No I am not matchmaking for Jeter, however I am advising for the show as of today. I for one wanted to see Shah and Jeter, I will go see that were ever it is. Now to your point about Shah not going to Maryland oh well, it would be nice 8rd fight minor title, NABC strap pretty enticing

Anonymous said...

I am advising Tony Jeter now and I advised him not to fight Shah on the Lange card because the money didn't match the risk. Tony is building toward a great pay day and the Shah fight isn't it. We are considering other offers.

Anonymous said...

That was a good fight for the area i'm sorry that Tony"mo better Not" Jeter will not step up to the plate and fight a live body. This is why people won't come out to these shows because of pretenders like Jeter...

Well if Shah would come over here and fight Jeter in a second have him contact me, then we will see if Jeter will or won't. I don't have his peoples contact information anymore.

porefBrian quit trying to be a big man in the boxing world.
You came to this area a nobody and you are still a nobody.Representing Tony Jeter doesn't make you anybody.

Brian said...

I have stopped trying to be a big guy in boxing. It is far too big of an effort, I am a guy just fitting in where I can get in. Some folks work with me others don't. Don't rep jeter, just advising him on the show, I like what I do in boxing. I think I do it well. I am enough I guess to be talked abbout

A lot of people don't know but Larry's dad was a damn good boxer from way back. Elkins Brothers was his name. 28 and 9 with 19KO's back in the 40's and 50's. That's when there was a gym on every corner and there were ten times as many fighters. He was damn good.

Larry really does need to give it up. At one time he was dangerous but now he's just getting beat up. Plus, he's closer to 50 than he is 40.
