Updates on Cancelled Cards!

Here are some updates on boxing cards that have been recently cancelled. One of the cards was actually scheduled for Saturday night at the Ransom Civic Center in Ransom, WVA. The card was scheduled to feature several Beltway Boxers.

The card that was scheduled for October 8 at DC Star before the Metropolitan Police Department shut DC Star down. There have been rumors abounding about what happened after the event. One rumor I can truly shoot down is what promoter Renee Aiken did with the money. She did NOT run off with the money. Sources tell BATB "The Boxing Diva" did indeed follow proper procedure as defined by the DC Boxing and Wrestling Commission.

I hope to get an update on what the exact procedure is.

Gary that sounds like the commision said she followed protocall in regards to dealing with the commision but did you speak with any of the fighters who gave her the ticket money they sold before the show and if she gave the money back to them?

Thanks for the update.

All of you hide behind "anonymous" and have absolutely nothing to do with what's going on, no lives, no goals and no b a S, I'm even figuring no heart. This is the Diva and no one can tell you better than I can, I'm not running or hiding, here I am!
Get at me now or meet me when I re schedule! No one can stop me from doing what I love to do and as they say opinions are like! What! everyone has one! Like i said you got the number, I won't be entertaining this garbage so no more responses from me, but you can call me, B

Good thing is Dirty Diva is driving herself further out of business. Everything she touches goes bad. She'll be out of the sport soon. Good riddance.

Looks like Diva skipped all English classes. Can't write and not that bright. Loser.

Fellas back off man. Both shows cancelled at no fault of the divas. As far as what was done let's not speculate. It's no ones business but the folks involved

Some people live to be negative and that is there purpose in life. These people hate on the efforts of folks like the "the diva" who are actually making things happen. I say big ups to the diva for her contribution to boxing promotion. Oh and big ups to the haters too as they keep the conversation alive and buy tickets while complaining the whole time. New WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson met the press at the Chick Hearn Media room at Staples Center shortly after his victory over Bernard Hopkins on Saturday night. Dawson’s promoter Gary Shaw took the podium first and echoed the comments Dawson had to say right after the fight. “I will tell you all what Chad told Bernard, ‘Hopkins you’re a pussy. Hopkins was saying he was a gangster you are not a gangster Hopkins. You know why? Because a gangster would get up and fight.’

Shaw continued, “Chad is really a great kid and soft spoken. I knew he would never come up and talk that way so I wanted you to know exactly what happened.” With all that said, Shaw introduced Dawson.

“I want to thank Bernard Hopkins for making it an easy night for me,” Dawson told the media. We put in a lot of work for this fight. We trained for eight weeks and this goes to show why Bernard was ducking me all these years.”
“You know what was going through my mind, please get up so we can finish the fight. Don’t end it like this. I really put in the work for this fight,” Dawson told Fightnews.com.

Crashing the press conference and seated in the front row was Jean Pascal, the only man to defeat Dawson. The champion said, “I lost to Pascal. It was controversial with the head butt. Pascal was out on his feet. He knows that. You can say all you want but you know you were about to be done. I will finish you off in the rematch.”

Shortly after Dawson and Pascal got heated as they both exchanged words.

“Anyways, I trained eight hard weeks for this fight. I am happy I got my title back. Thank you all for being here,” Dawson said in closing.

Later Dawson told Fightnews.com, “I am not satisfied at all. I didn’t get to show the hard work we put in camp. I didn’t break a sweat tonight.

In regard to Pascal, he stated, “I trained four weeks for this guy. He is a four round fighter.” Dawson will now set his sights on a rematch with Pascal as he looks to avenge his only defeat.

Hopkins was not present at the press conference as he was being evaluated at California Medical Center in Los Angeles, where it was revealed he had suffered a separation of the A-C joint, which connects the collar bone and shoulder.

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer stated, “We are filing a protest to the California State Athletic Commission. We are taking this serious. Chad Dawson is not the champion. I have already been talking to Jose Sulaiman. This is not the way. We are not going to accept that!”
