Photo by: Chris Hutty – Hoganphotos/Golden Boy Promotions
Lamont Peterson and Amir Khan pose at the first press conference to formally announce their IBF Super Lightweight title bout that will take place on Saturday, December 10 in Washington, DC. The second press conference is slated to take place on Thursday in DC. Not saying where until I find out whether the press conference is open to the public.

The fight will be held at DC Star. Kahn vs. Peterson is a main event and deserves a decent venue.
Would you fight for $500 on a card like this? Is it worth it?
would i fight for $500? For exposure. you damn right. why not? you fight in the gym for free everyday.
Sparring and fighting r 2 different things.I can tell ur not a boxer.
I know the presser will be at the W hotel in dc at 2pm
The fight will now be at the DC Armory, they say that Dc Star is too small. One local fighter on card Steve Mitchell-Heavy Weight from Brandywine.
Even though it's virginia you all don't be suprised if it's held at the Patriot Center.
Remember you heard it here first.
It puts the lotion on the skin or gets the water hose again.
The latest word I am hearing is the Washington Convention Center. There are reports that quote Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer as saying this.
Gary will you be at the press conference tomorrow? Would love to hear your thoughts about it. Who was there, what was said, what local boxers howed up? Who else is on the card?
Unfortunately because of my real job, I can't make the press conference today.
The fight can't be at the Verizon Center because Georgetown Basketball's already got the venue booked for their game vs. Howard.
DC star is too small for an HBO show, and the Stadium Armory is too beat up. Golden Boy and HBO aren't going to want to shoot in a beat up old building.
If it's not the convention center, the only other venue (if they stay true to their word and host in DC proper) would be DAR Constitution Hall. The Convention Center's got a few halls that could host a big event like this.
The Patriot Center's too far, no way anyone's going to get away with calling that DC AND it's affiliated as the "home stadium" of another area boxer.
It's official! The fight will be at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center!
the DC Star I hope that was a joke?
Strong card if the rumors are true
Boogie went to Toledo Ohio for the P.A.L. Boxing Tournment and fought three nites and won the championship and Upton Boxing Center received a team trophy for third place Juan Jenkins
known as NC State
Barry you are keeping it real. You are bringing Vegas to DC. I tip my hat to you my brother.
