Russell's Opponent Changes For Saturday Night in Vegas!

The opponent for "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. for Saturday, July 23 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas has changed. The undefeated 2008 Olympian will now face Eric "El Loco" Estrada of Chicago, IL in what is now going to be an eight-round contest that may or may not be televised by HBO.

Estrada (9-1, three KO's) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision over James Lester on March 25 in River Grove, IL. Estrada's only loss was to undefeated Luis Cruz via sixth-round knockout in June of 2010.

Truscott will be a major underdog but unbelievably considering Russell Jr was an elite amateur, he is his opponent to date and he has faced the better level.

His best chance would be to really test Russel's temperament. Keep it tight rake and frustrate him. Thus far Russell hasn't been remotely tested, which is never a good thing for such an advanced professional.

Scott, I don't know if you read the post before you commented but Truscott is not Russell's opponent anymore.

Thanks for your insight on him, however.

To Norm:

HBO probably will only show highlights because even though they made a commitment to show Russell on TV, this was not the opponent HBO approved. So the best thing to do in this case is to show highlights.

Digital, I was wondering if you could help me out. I was at last night's fight at Sugar Ray Leonard's. I left a red and black notebook there that I'm tyring to get back. I might not be able to make it to tonight's fight, so I was wondering if you would be able to ask gym managers/administrator's, if anybody turned the notebook in. It's a red and black.
Thanks for any help.
