Using what ESPN.com Boxing Writer Dan Rafael called in a tweet "insane hand speed," "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. won an eight-round unanimous decision over Eric "El Loco" Estrada tonight at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
According to published reports, Russell dominated his opponent with extremely fast combinations throughout the contest, scoring a knockdown in the seventh round. Russell went on to win by shutout on all three judges cards, 80-71.
Russell remains undefeated at 17-0, 10 KO's. Estrada falls to 9-2, three KO's.
