Shiflett to Face Kidd for WBF All-Americas Title June 17!

We do have an update on the Bang Time Boxing card on Friday, June 17 at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore. The main event will be a 10-round contest for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) All-Americas Cruiserweight title between Baltimore's Russ "The Hammer" Shiflett and Newton "The Butcher" Kidd of The Bronx, NY by way of St. Mary Parish, Jamaica.

Shiflett (11-0-1, five KO's) is coming off a six-round unanimous decision win over Willie Chisolm on April 15 at the Maryland Sportsplex in Millersville, MD. Kidd (7-7-2, four KO's) is unbeaten in his last two bouts. Both men will be attempting to go 10 rounds for the first time in their careers.

In the interest of full disclosure, this reporter has been named the WBF Supervisor for this bout.

The co-feature will mark the return of Baltimore super middleweight "The Persecutor" Mike Paschall. Out of action since a majority decison win over Arial Espinal last September at Du Burns, Paschall (21-2-1, four KO's) will face Nathan Bedwell of Jackson, TN (4-7, three KO's) in a six-round contest. Bedwell is coming off a six-round unanimous decision loss to Grover Young on March 19 in Tunica, MS.

Also returning to action will be the undefeated "Golden Greek" of Baltimore -- Elias Bouloubassis. Bouloubassis (5-0-5, four KO's) last fought on September 10 at Du Burns and fought to a four-round majority draw against Kelvin Kibler. The opponent will be Stephen Franklin of Martinsburg, WVA. Franklin (0-4) will be looking for his first pro win in his fifth bout against a Beltway opponent. Previously, Franklin lost to Sherman Artis, Jr., Devin Butcher, Dan Cannaday and Mischa Christensen.

Baltimore middleweight Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow has been added to this card but he is still looking for an opponent.
