Results From Baltimore, Hidalgo and Austin!

Here are the results from the Bang Time Boxing card at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore:

Undefeated cruiserweight Russ "The Hammer" Shiflett wins the WBF All-America's Cruiserweight title with an eight-round majority decision over Bronx, NY's Newton "The Butcher" Kidd. Shiflett is now 12-0-1, five KO's. Kidd is now 7-8-2, four KO's.

Mike "The Persecutor" Paschall won a six-round split decision over Nathan Bedwell of Lexington, TN. Paschall is now 22-1-1, four KO's. Bedwell falls to 4-8, three KO's.

"The Golden Greek" Elias Bouloubassis captured a four-round unanimous decision over Stephen Franklin of Inwood, WVA by way of DC. Bouloubassis remained undefeated at 6-0-5, four KO's. Franklin is 1-5, one KO.

Lonnie Kornegay and Martinsburg, WVA's Donald Crawford fought to a four-round majority draw. Kornegay is now 0-4-2 while Crawford is now 1-1-1, one KO.

The matchmaker for the show was "The Boxing Diva" Renee Aiken.

At the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, TX, super featherweight "Mr." Gary Russell, Jr. of Capitol Heights, MD scored three knockdowns enroute to a fourth-round stoppage of Antonio Meza. Russell dropped Meza once in the third and twice in the fourth before the bout was stopped at 2:42 in the fourth.

Russell is 16-0, 10 KO's while Meza falls to 24-10-1, 16 KO's.

The big shocker took place in the capital of Texas, Austin where Fernando Guerrero lost his first pro bout via fourth-round TKO to former Contender champion Grady Brewer at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas. Guerrero was dropped by right hands before an uppercut finished the job at 2:16 of the fourth. Guerrero is now 21-1, 16 KO's while Brewer rises to 29-12, 17 KO's.

No word yet on how Maurice Byarm did on that card and also no info has come in on how Fernando's brother, Alex fared in Harrington, DE.

Here is the Boxing Along The Beltway Post-Fight Wrap-Up from Du Burns Arena:

Im not much for the sanctioning bodies but if the WBF has Digital working for them then they have been elevated in my estimation. And if Digital gets to make a few bucks, and lord knows he does a lot for boxing, then good for you!

Paschall split decision? Really? Hard to believe really unless Mike was in horrible shape. With Risher giving the score for the other guy that tells me Mike got the win. Risher is a terrible judge.

Russell, Jr. great job! World title in 2013!

Fernando, that's the way it goes. Brewer is a very big puncher and Fernando got caught. The naysayers and the i told you soers will be coming out of the woodwork. Nobody expected Fernando to lose and you take a fight like that because it's a showcase for you on tv. Brewer just didnt follow the script.

Thanks for the kind words! To tell you the truth, it was not my idea to be a supervisor, but I am proud that they asked me.

No, Paschall was not in the best of shape but he deserved the win.

yeah fernando is done

Fernando is far from done. This isn't the NCAA basketball tournament, lose and go home. Brewer is an experienced fighter, crafty and a puncher. Fernando may have come in to light or taken him to lightly. Either way, Fernando needs to pick himself up, get back in the gym and work hard. Stay busy, keep battling and remember in this sport, a loss can open doors because top guys are cautious. . .just be ready to walk through it when you get the chance.

Agreed Fernando has been down before, but he is such a great kid he will just pick himself up again. I for one will be supporting him wholeheartedly

Fernando Guerrero is by no means done. The decision to drop down in weight was a calculated risk by the Guerrero camp that simply didn't pay off. Hopefully they will realize that he belongs at 160 and will stay there.

But to say he is done after ONE loss? Not a chance!

he's probably done as far as shobox main events and espn main events go. unless he fights another up and comer on tv and then hes got to win that one to get back to the big time. if not he'll be lucky to get a 6 rounder at the jaycees community center. not hating just being real.

I think the other poster is right he wont be on the big time unless he fights and undefeated fighter or another strong 20-1/20-2 type of guy. in my opinion he should have stayed with headbangers im quite sure that was his new trainers decision to drop thinking that he would be unstoppable, thats what happen when you believe the other side of the grass is greener do the right thing hal, but i do think fernando will be back

brewer can punch. is he the biggest puncher around. no. but he can crack. hes a gatekeeper. tough fight with sechew powell, had him hurt. beat current beltholder K9. lost to rubio. lost to jermain taylor but popped him pretty good. lost to manfredo. hes better now than he was early in his career but hes still a gatekeeper. a guy you take a test against. and fernando failed miserably and got stopped early in the fight. those are the harsh facts. he can blame the weight loss if he wants but he was out of it. and against a guy who is good yes. but great and world champ material? no. sorry fernando. welcome to ballroom boxing or the showplace arena or the jaycees hall. unless you whip a real contender on tv. not a jessie nicklow or derrick findley or michael walker. how about a pawel wolak or deandre latimore? that would get you back. if not it's "and in a 6 rounder at the jaycees hall Fernando Guerrero" and you'll be lucky to make $700.

i dont think he will see 700 at jaycess for years to come cause whether you remember he probably can still sell out in salsbury at least 5 or 6 more times i say go back to the people that got you there and do the things that got you there change isnt always a good thing

they wont come back to salisbury i bet theyre too scared. getting knocked out and exposed on national tv. your gate wont be half of what it was. those are the harsh facts of boxing. sorry.

HE SHOULD HAD NEVER LEFT WHO GOT HIM THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I THINK HE SHOULD HAD STAY WHERE HE WAS AND STAYED AT HIS REG WEIGHT..
HE STILL A GREAT FIGHTER AND I KNOW HE WILL BE BACK. HOLD YOUR HEAD GUERRERRO

Fernando is with Al Haymen so he won't have any problem getting back on TV that's a fact..
