Boxing Returns to Millersville, MD in May!

The United Boxers Promotional group led by Chris Middendorf will have their second pro card on Saturday, May 21 at the Maryland Sportsplex in Millersville, MD.

The card is slated to be headlined by Baltimore's Taylor Brothers -- Maxell "The General" and Emanuel "Tranzformer" -- along with Jessie "The Beast" Nicklow.

Maxell Taylor (15-3-1, six KO's) will battle DC's Purcell "Hard Rock" Miller (23-5-1, 18 KO's) in the eight-round main event. Taylor is coming off a tough eight-round TKO loss against Donovan George for the vacant USBA Super Middleweight title on April 1 in Chicago, IL. Miller has not fought since his eight-round unanimous decision victory over Thomas Wilt at the Patriot Center on May 2, 2009.

Younger brother Emanuel (11-0, nine KO's) will be in a scheduled six-round contest against Jose Angel "Lucky" Roman of St. Augustine, FL (11-31-5, five KO's). Both men were on the inaugural United Boxers card in Millersville on April 15. Taylor stopped Guadalupe Diaz in the second round while Roman lost a six-round unanimous decision to James "Keep 'Em Sleepin'" Stevenson.

Nicklow (21-2-3, eight KO's) will try to follow-up on his first-round knockout win over Steve Walker on the last United Boxers card when he faces James "Boogie" Freeman of Vernon, TX (7-3, six KO's) in another six-round contest. Freeman lost a six-round unanimous decision to Emanuel Ledezma on February 4 in Fort Worth, TX, but is still the reigning Texas State Middleweight title. This will be Freeman's first bout outside the Texas-Oklahoma region.

One other bout seems to be set for this card and it should be a good one. Baltimore junior middleweight Omar "The Machine" Sims (5-3-3, three KO's) will battle Ivan Ziglar of Virginia Beach, VA (3-2-1, one KO) in a four-round contest. Sims is coming off a six-round unanimous decision loss to Zain Shah on November 6 at the Patriot Center. Ziglar has won two straight including a four-round unanimous decision over Jeremy Wood on February 4 in Morgantown, WVA.

Stevenson (14-0, 10 KO's) is slated to be on this card along with fellow undefeated Baltimore boxers "Slick" Nick Kisner (8-0-1, five KO's) and Dale "Hit Hard as Hell" Robeson-El (6-0, four KO's). All three are looking for opponents.

I hope this card is better than the last one, some of these guy's were good amatuer's for some reason they don't look as sharp as pro's.
