The DiBella Entertainment debut may not have gone exactly the way that Mark "TNT" Tucker wanted it to go at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA. The main thing is that Tucker got the win -- an eight-round unanimous decision over Bakersfield, CA's Billy "Billy Goat" Bailey.
However, according to Robert Hough and Rocco Morales of Fightnews.com, the decision was very unpopular with the fans. Tucker won by scores of 78-74 and 77-75 (twice). Tucker captured the NABO Youth Light Heavyweight title in the process, his second regional title of his young career. Tucker is also the USBO Light Heavyweight champ. Tucker is now 14-0, seven KO's while Bailey falls to 10-8, four KO's.

Gary, John Mackey just got majority decision win over Donald Orr 15-0 Canadian Olympian. This was at Orr's hometown in Niagara falls. Yes!!!
Han Kim
NOTE TO EDITOR: Although Tucker was with the promoter, the decision may have been booed since the bout was in Bailey's hometown.
I am telling you I saw the fight and there is no doubt Louie "The Pole Smoker" blew each judge to get Tucker the win, but then again, Louie probably just enjoyed it period!
How do you spell fraud? M-A-R-K T-U-C-K-E-R. Dibella will drop this guy like a stone after watching him fight once. He does not sell tickets and he can't fight. Nuff said.
To all those making the negative
comments you must know that Mark is doing something right or nobody
would be taking notice.
Good to see John Mackey get this win.
SF.
Congratulations to John Mackey. Nice upset. What makes it even more special is that he did it on POINTS in the other fighters HOME TOWN and against an UNDEFEATED opponent. That is truly special. Hopefully this win will get him back on track.
Sooner or later Mark Tucker will have to step up. I am not going to make any derogatory remarks about him has a fighter but all I will say is sooner or later he will be forced to step up. Bullshit only lasts for so long
It's true, sooner or later Mark Tucker will have to step up. But why are we trying to rush it?
Let's look at the facts, Mark Tucker is a 22-year old who has won just 14 bouts and has already won two regional titles.
On the very same card, we saw what happens when an undefeated prospect when he stepped up too early. Donnie Orr gets beat by a quality veteran in John Mackey.
There is no and should not be any rush for Tucker.
Same thing with Fernando Guerrero. Many consider his upcoming bout with Ishe Smith to be a nice step up for him. To have him face Daniel Jacobs at this stage is crazy for both sides of the matchup. Unless there is a serious title involved, that bout should never happen!
Gary although I agree with you on this ,boxing has become to much of a protect your fighter busniess and I think the sport is suffering for it on the local show level. When you have a prospect you should move him along
safely but there is a fine line as to when and where you have to step it up.I know there are alot of differing opinions on this subject but it is my opinion that Mark Senior is doing an outstanding job with his son and I hope we see some big things out of this kid.
Oct 31 1974 Roberto Duran 44-1 fought Jose Vasquez 1-1 so lets see he is a all time great and gave Ray Leonard his first loss. But we are going to say that Tucker is not fighting the proper guys nor is Fernando.
Perhaps the people that comment are jelous of others success and want others to fail rather then support someone from thier community
Remember when you piont your finger at someone you have three pionting back at you.
Congrats to Tucker way to have ball and fight someone in thier home town and I saw the fight online and give Tucker a shut out. They only gave Bailey those 2 rounds because he was the home town guy. and we all know the East coast vs West coast rivalry is alive and well.So naturally they would faver the local west coast guy. Tucker stay undefeated, you have boxings best Jab
I just don't get excited early on in a fighter's career anymore unless they are remarkable (Andre Berto). I have been excited too many times and have believed a fighter would go on to be a champion, to only see him become 26-1 after taking a step up and then becoming a "gate keeper". The story has become an old one in the current system of boxing.
To be honest you can't truly judge Mark Tucker because he hasn't fought anybody. Some fighters only get motivated and come in at top form when they fight somebody who can beat them (Mike Tyson was like this). Maybe Mark Tucker is the same. But against the opponents he has been in with, I just haven't seen anything. The ones he knocked out looked like they were ready to be KO'ed as soon as they stepped inside the ring. Almost like they were waiting for a reason to fall.
So now, I won't judge. I will just wait and see. But like I said in an earlier post..... Sooner or later he will be FORCED to step up. Bullshit only lasts for so long.
My bad for saying Mackey beat Orr in Orr's hometown. I read it wrong. Still a good upset considering the fact Mackey was most likely handpicked by Orr's team as an opponent because they believed he would be an easy victory and the fact Orr was undefeated.
Tyson wasn't that type of fighter...Tyson was a bully who feasted on the weak and frightened, actually, he wilted when in against elite competition.
KEEP HATING HATERS! YOU ARE ALL JUST TALKING CRAP ON TUCKER BECAUSE HE IS THE ONLY PROSPECT FROM THE BELTWAY AREA WHO ISN'T FIGHTING STIFFS!!!!
Sure he has had a few bumps along the road but guess what, he isn't fighting dead bodies like so many of these other guys are. Give the kid credit he is 22!
You guys make me sick on here. I am done with boxing and taking my money/ego to live in Vegas with Rock Newman.
JD Brown
nice headline Gary
You are a regular Ienstien, who would have ever thought that they would root for the West coast guy.
Well at least we know you are a Tucker hater too ...;. Maybe he is too much of a Pail face for you???
PLEASE!!! You are talking to the same person who named Tucker the Beltway Prospect of the Year in 2009!
I resent the racial implications of your statement, especially coming from an anonymous source. If you actually READ the article, you would say that the unpopularity was according to two Fightnews reporters.
If you remember, the same thing happened to Clarence Vinson in his pro debut in New York. It happens. Maybe it was because of his hometown, but the facts were written as such. Same with Tucker.
If you are going to bring up the man's name, at least learn to spell it correctly -- E-I-N-S-T-E-I-N! Einstein!
now mr Williams don't stoop to their level.
Gary...Please, I follow your blog very closely, I know ur not a racist. Look man, some of these guys just want a reaction from you, dont give it to them.
Too many times on this website idiots make racial accusations without even knowing anything about the person they are unfairly implicating. It's just wrong. Gary treats, and reports on, everybody in the same manner. The previous blogger was right on the mark as such ridiculous comments are not even worthy of a response.
Well put!
If the REDSKINS Beat The Cowboys in Dallas it would be unpopular but it would still be a win. The score would determine the Victor!
Wait till Tucker really moves up in competition, then you'll see the real Tucker, the one that folds like a chair!!!!
Gary,
Great reply. I love how these guys say crap like that and then cannot even spell.
Josh
Gary is a racist?
Guess he forgot to tell me.
But in all seriousness, Gary is considered by all to be one of the truly good men in the sport of boxing. To imply in any way that he harbors any racist feeling is slanderous and a great disservice not only to Gary, but the entire Washington-Baltimore boxing community.
so what has he done? Won two belts in two yaers.anyone can go 14-0 in two years, just another over rated cracker!
