Gerald Odom will make it as a profesional prize fighter, but not in the amateurs. Gerald should follow Ballard's decision to turn pro. Do not waste time with 2012. He could easly be 6-0 by then. AAU is going under as I speak into the microphone. Gerald Odom will be a top contender in the light heavyweight division in mid 2012. He has knockout power in both hands.

The AAU boxing nationals haven't been contested in decades!! Maybe they just didn't get the memo down south. Post info on AAU boxing events if you have them. I haven't heard of any in last 10 years I've been in boxing.

AAU night of sparkling diamonds, bubbling champagne and championship boxing will be tonight (Nov. 14th) when the Linden Boxing Association, in conjunction with the Linden Public Property and Community Services Department. presents the 75th annual New Jersey State finals of the Diamond Gloves Boxing Tournament.
The full night of championship boxing entertainment, sponsored by the Conoco Phillips Bayway Refinery, will be held at the Linden High School gymnasium at 121 W. Saint Georges Ave.

My point was when it was said the AAU is going under, obviously that poster is misinformed as the Amateur Athletic Union no longer offers boxing, period. It's not going under, it's gone.
The AAU National Boxing Championships, which is generally the tournament that people are referring to in the past when they said a boxer was a "National AAU Champ" (just like you can say National Golden Gloves and mean the National Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions), is no longer held.
Give it up, buddy. Just quit.

AAU has been gone since USA boxting took over in I think the early 80"s. Not sureit's been gone for quite some time. of the date, but it's def. gone. I do think AAU is alive for other sports but not boxing. I do believe that USAB will also be gone one day in the near future.

I see that also, but I never see or hear of any tournaments talking about AAU. I see that on USA boxing website as of today, Now out of curosity I must call. However, who really gives a shit. but I must admit AAU does sound good.
