Boxing Comes to Baltimore and Lynchburg Saturday Night!

There are two cards in the Beltway Boxing region slated for Saturday, May 8. Baltimore Pro Boxing is holding a card at Du Burns Arena in Baltimore starting at 7:30 PM. Promoter Jake Smith has been pulling double duty these last few weeks as he has been putting together his first Mixed Martial Arts card (which took place this past Friday) along with the upcoming boxing card. The matchups for the May 8 boxing card are not completely set but hopefully will be by this evening. This card is also dedicated to the memory of "The American Dream" Mike Dietrich.

Some of the names slated for the Du Burns card include undefeated Baltimore cruiserweight Steve "Show Stealer" Wheeler, Shelly Seivert and returning boxers "The Golden Greek" Elias Bouloubassis and Jed "The Punisher" Phipps.

Meanwhile at Jefferson Forest High School in Forest, VA (near Lynchburg), Bedford, VA fan favorite Scott "Cujo" Sigmon (8-2, three KO's) headlines a Major League Boxing card taking on Carlton "The Head Banga" Holland of Durham, NC (18-12-1, seven KO's) in a scheduled 10-round bout. Sigmon will be trying to bounce back from his tough 10-round unanimous decision loss to Jessie Nicklow on March 20th at Du Burns. The card begins at 7 PM.

There will be a number of Lynchburg-area boxers on the card, including undefeated Roanoke, VA junior welterweight David "D-Hop" Hopkins (4-0, one KO). Also, former USBA Cruiserweight champion Emmanuel "Chukwu" Nwodo of Baltimore (23-5, 19 KO's) returns to action as a heavyweight, taking on Ed "Iron Man" Guitierrez of Oakland, CA (15-8-1, six KO's). Nwodo hasn't fought since knocking out Lenzie Morgan on August 29 at the City Armory in Lynchburg, VA. Guitierrez started his career 15-0-1 but is now riding an eight-bout losing streak.

Cujo taking on another tough fighter with a good record. Something Tony Jeter would never think of doing.

Facts are facts!

Cujo's opponents combined record

82 wins, 39 losses

Jeter's opponents combined record

26 wins, 65 losses

These are the facts! And Jeter acted like he wanted some after Cujo's fight with Nicklow! Want some Jeter? Come get some!

Let's see if Cujo has improved his skills. Word is that Joe H. is about ready to give up on Cujo as he can't learn basic technique. Joe is so frustrated that Cujo slaps and pushes his punches and is not retaining any of his training. Joe has moved this bout to a smaller venue -a high school - and has confided to close associates that Cujo is on the decline already. Watch for Joe to drop the emphasis on Cujo and ultimately drop him all together.

Jeter cares enough about Cujo to bust his car windows out.

Tony Jeter did not break Cujo's windows

I heard Tony Jeter, because of his incredible opposition and tremendous knockout percentage, is the next alternate for the Super 6 Super Middleweight Tournament! When Jermain Taylor went out, they picked up Allan Greene. Now I hear if someone else falls out, Tony "Mo Better" Jeter is next in line to take the reigns!
