Let's get it, fellas. France is calling you all. We have three weight classes covered!! This is a big opportunity for these youngsters and all newly-turned open class boxers.

What are the different classes in amateur boxing and what do they mean?? I'm 19 years so what class would I be fighting. Prolly will be 220 when I start if that means anything as well.

You will fight novice because you are between 17-34 and have less than 10 fights. You will be Open once you have 10 fights. Your weight class will be heavyweight (201+). The next weight class below is 201lbs. If you are heavyweight, your opponents will be heavier than 201+ with no limit on how much they can weight.

I hope that you have a trainer. If so, they can give you all the details on all of the weight divisions.

No trainer yet. Havent been to a BOXING gym (I work out, just not at a boxing gym). I'm in college and didnt want to take on boxing during my first year of school. Wanted just to focus on my classes before I took on anything else.

Thanks for that information though.
